Can anyone comment on the most recent Google Maps review? The former driver showed a picture of his truck where there's a very tiny piece missing from the plastic part of the bottom of the truck right above the rubber side skirts. The damage is insignificant and barely noticeable, it doesn't affect the truck in any way.

The driver said he got fired for not reporting that damage and for not getting enough miles every quarter. Is this normal for Holland to fire over such trivial non reported damage to a truck that only affects how the truck looks (same as a paint scratch) and for Holland not to give at least a warning beforehand that they aren't satisfied with the miles on is running per month?

And how's is it the drivers fault that they aren't getting adequate miles per month" when it's forced dispatch, dispatch generally doesn't seem to like 34 resets from the reviews I saw and drivers only get 1 day off per week worked so it's not flexible hometime? So aren't miles basically 100% dependent on dispatch at this company?

I'm currently weighing my options but that review has me a little worried.

I wouldn't trust that review. I'm only gonna say it's the one bad review for the sake of my argument even though every company has a few bad reviews, but when there's one bad review from a driver saying they got fired for this or that they're either stretching the truth or lying about it entirely. If there were lots of reviews like that about Holland, that's when I'd worry. And as it has been stated many times already, Holland isn't strict on the 1 day off for every week out and you can take more time off if you want.

It kind of seemed from that review that Holland was looking for a reason to get rid of him. But it's still concerning as to whether this came out of nowhere, or if there were advanced warnings that management wasn't happy with his job performance.

The hometime thing, its drivers saying they sometimes get an extra day or two off when they go home and most of the time only because dispatch got them home a day or two early. Thats not enough to affect your miles not being satisfactory for management, which was my point that the miles you get there are due to what dispatch gives you (it's forced dispatch with basically non flexible hometime), so how can a driver be punished for that?

I also wouldn’t worry about that review — when I review or observe someone or something or evaluate a business, I look for patterns, trends, and similarities. If there is only one bad review in 8-10 which are mainly positive I will tend to lean toward the aforementioned 8-10 when weighing my decision.

Met up with a Holland driver yesterday in Grand Forks. I think it may have been @IWX6279. If so hopefully they got you out of there pretty quick.

    Keep on trucking!!

Yes, it is standard to fire drivers for non reported incidents. In order to take that chunk out of the side skirts the driver had to do something. To not notice it means he is not doing proper inspections. To notice and not tell indictis dishonesty. A plus either B or C equals "this is a driver we don't want around".

Add in a little unproductiveness and it's an easy termination.

Nah — wasn’t me — I’m currently in Florida. I deliver to Publix in Miami at 0630 then pick up that OR/WA load out of Bartow , FL going to Martin Brewer. First drop in Portland and Final In Sumner on Thursday 31st.

I will say that I’ll have to really hustle to make OTD. Shouldn’t be a problem but it’s 3443 loaded miles. I’m not complaining, just pointing out.

I agree 100%. If she / he isn’t reporting incidents or accidents, you can only imagine what else they’re doing. You’ll find these drivers on Bonehead truckers or that some motorist posted a negative review of the trucking company and to display pictures — if they have any — of the unethical behavior or reckless driving on behalf of said driver. .
