That Dallas to Ontario load is one that they called me last weekend at the house and asked me if I would leave a day or two early to grab it but unfortunately they called me at 11 o’clock in the morning and I’m 215 miles from the truck they wanted to pick up by 1600

No, they are not. Actually they are leading the nation and the number of out of service drivers right now… Somebody on social media had posted the recent numbers put out by the states and they are number one followed by Tennessee… Based on my experience in the Cheyenne and Evanston port of entry entry With those two foreign drivers that could not understand any English it doesn’t surprise me because I’ve never seen a Wyoming DOT officer as mad as I had seen them that day…Trucker61016, Knucklehead, hotrod1653 and 3 others Thank this.

I left the house last Tuesday went from Fort Worth to Missouri city then back up to humble Texas to Hermiston now dead head all the way to Salt Lake to pick up to go to West Jefferson, Ohio… 4836 miles in 10 days

Managed to get loaded and to a Kwik Trip before my 14 was up. Apparently when Kyle said they got the load window pushed out, the shipper waited for me instead of rescheduling. I picked up 30k of canned Mexican cheese. The toughest part was getting my tandems to slide once loaded. I have an old 839### trailer. I managed to finally get them to slide, but because this truck has no subtly on the clutch, it likes to slip-slip-slip-dump, my tandems are all the way forward, and because this old arse trailer doesn't like to lock the brakes as tight as they should, moving them back was a fight I gave up on last night. Will re-lube the rails and try again this morning. Maybe pulling the load to the truckstop adjusted them better than pulling an empty trailer. I really need to invest in some tire chalks, or break out the welder and make a metal set.

I bought some tire chalks on Amazon for that purpose alone.Friend and hope not dumb twucker Thank this.

Apparently pulling the loaded trailer 17 miles to a truckstop adjusted the brakes better than pulling it 180 miles, empty. Built air, released the pins and the brakes held like they should and I was able to slide the tandems like normal.
It has been some good nights for sleeping. Cool enough I can turn off the cab comfort part of the opti-idle, pop the side vent and sleep like a baby. But, based on what see on the 7 day forecast for my next trips, I think that streak might come to an end. It looks like it might be toasty in the SW, even into SoCal it's predicted to be warm.Speed_Drums, Trucker61016, Friend and 6 others Thank this. -
Do you mash the pedal to the floor when you grab a different trailer to ratchet the slack adjusters?
