This was in the construction zone south of the scale. Seems to be a weekly occurrence. Interstate has been closed over 12 hours now because of this.
Deadly crash involving 3 semis reported on I-65 in NW Indiana

Preliminary investigations suggest that traffic was slowed due to construction when a red bobtail tractor was stopped in the right lane. A blue semi-truck approached from behind at a high speed and swerved into the median to avoid a collision, striking a cable barrier in the process. Shortly afterward, another semi-truck traveling quickly collided with the rear of the red bobtail tractor.

This #### is why im always terrified of being the "first" stopped truck in a slowdown. Ive had so many near misses where the moron behind me had to dodge to the emergency lane and/or smoked their brakes this year its been insane. And that area in specific is is so bad that anymore i just take 41 or 231 and screw the extra miles. I aint going to be killed by some flip flop wearing ####### watching cat videos.

Every time this happens the big safety groups want to mandate front bumper radar on all trucks.

Without a doubt, this **** is getting out of hand. Same thing almost happened to me a couple of nights ago on I-75 near the I-24 junction in Chattanooga!
TDOT was doing nighttime construction at the split so they cut the traffic down to 1 lane on the northbound side (#1 lane next to the median). Traffic was backed up across the state line into Georgia,I see the traffic backup before coming down the hill and curve, activated the 4 ways and the Jake and got on the radio warning drivers to back it down. 2-3 drivers didn’t get the hint about the backup and continued to hammer down at 70-75 mph almost into standstill traffic!!! 1 driver smoked his brakes, another took the shoulder and another took the shoulder next to the median!
How can you not see a traffic backup from 3/4s of a mile on a clear night? They have signs posted warning about the lane closures a mile in advance, the electronic signs warn about it well into Georgia!!
Some of these drivers are idiots!!
