Great plains transport not so great

Yeah from what I've heard the owners son is just another alligator mouth, good to see some accountability come his way. Maybe the father is trying to salvage his son with some important lessons. It's unfortunate for the drivers but these family type of companies tend to go down hill when the original owner steps down.

Saw a trailer being pulled by Dakota Carriers out of Sioux Falls a few minutes ago. Wonder if they are buying the trailers?

there are still a few sitting at the Gordy’s store here in Mapleton.

 

There’s a different business in the building.
What’s left of trucks and trailers are mostly drug to back of the property.

 

The strange part is all of the company’s social pages.. Facebook, YouTube, etc have virtually no mentioning of the mapleton site closing or being sold, or were the company and staff moved to. I think the last post they had was on YouTube at the end of last year.

 

Welp did a little ride by the former home of (not so) Great Plains. A local iron working company has taken the building over. Still well over 40 trucks and trailers sitting there on site collecting dust.

My guess is the repo man is coming, and we have seen the end of GPT. Good riddance.

 

Most definitely. I feel somewhat sorry for the drivers who had such blind loyalty to Mike that they rode with the ship as it went under with no notice that it was closing up. He did a really sloppy job of tying up the loose ends. I doubt if he’s learn any lessons… he certainly didn’t when he bought cmt and bankrupted that outfit either.

 

I noticed the website has the new address added and no longer lists Mapleton as home.

 

Yeah I don’t think any trucks will be parked at that new address anytime soon….

 

Nope… it’s become like the Amazon & Super ego contractors have their “company” addresses at some condo or rented mailbox…

it’s funny how one company can basically sink like the titanic while my company just down the street is thriving and even expanding.
