Several yrs ago my buddies & I made a road trip on our Harleys up to the bridge.
After crossing into UP we flipped around & headed back across, about 1/3 way back the lights overhead started flashing & it was a handful let me tell ya.
Never imagined having to lean that far over on a straight away in my life.

 

What's the point of calling them night dispatch if they can't actually dispatch anything?

That happens during the day too though. Either the planners are at lunch, in a meeting or have gone home for the day.

It's because brokers are closed at night unless they have a load that needs relayed in your area they might give you that but other than that it's hard at night.
