LTL Linehaul Dock Work Companies

Pyle L/H drivers get paid hourly, some runs have built dock and some don't. If the terminal your at has dock and your not ready to go you usually can work the dock.

Linehaul drivers do not work dock at all. It's not even a consideration. P&D might do so at some small terminals but don't quote me on that.

The only drivers I can confirm do dock work are Combo drivers. They work either Dock, P&D or Linehaul depending on demand, acting like Swiss army knives.

i think, according to the new contract, that linehaul drivers DON'T work the dock. The last two times i went to Grumpyburg (Harrisburg, pa, our main hub) filling in for one of our regular linehaul drivers, they were like, "do you want to work the dock?" i said HELL NO. And they said, then you have to clock off.

So, to my understanding, generally linehaul drivers here generally don't work the dock anymore, but there is an option at some terminals you may go to? It seems that if dockwork is offered, but you turn it down, then that time is off the clock, unpaid.

i am not 100% clear on this and will report back when i learn more.
