Id stop grab a burger and fries eat on the run. Doesn't take 15 minutes for you to park, get your order, and get back to trucking. No need to scratch it in the log book. By the time i finished my lunch i’ve gone another 20 miles, belly fueled up and no real time wasted.

Not here. Guys work the 30mins for free everyday manipulating their efficiency per hour. I’ve seen inbound supervisors do the same thing. Clock out and continue working

Another thing, is many times "incidents" can occur getting off the highway, and if you never stopped, that never would have happened. I can honestly say, the union job was the only one out of dozens, where breaks were supposedly a big deal. Practically every other boss was glad to see me come back early, even the union job boss,( that hated the union) gave me an attaboy, too bad the union didn't see it that way.:biggrin_25516:,,,:biggrin_25522:

I hate to be that guy, but from my experience finishing early means you’re not working hard enough and you’ll get rewarded with more work

    Tb0n3, Cardfan89 and 201 Thank this.

Good grip, reminds me of a time, one job, not the union one, I came back in my usual "before anyone else", and there was an "emergency delivery" that was handed to you know who, while the other drivers sat at the truckstop watching me go by.

…Unless you’re one of the favorites, or course. They get to go home.

I told the dispatch lady she was moderately attractive, you know, for her age.

That old crone ran me into the ground. What kind of driver appreciation is that? Some people's children I swear.

I am trying to think of something I like or miss about unions, but nothing comes to mind....
I don't need to pay someone to fly their flag over my head. Maybe some of them have better insurance, that is true but I don't miss the whole culture and the "you'll need us when they come after you" crap. Bunch of corrupt crooks skimming skimming money and blowing it on political crap. They can use someone else's money
