Yep, think whatever you want about the hunters, but these villages survive off rich Americans. Nothing is wasted, no matter the animal, and harvest #'s are strictly regulated.Last edited: Nov 13, 2025

I have no issues with hunting. I’ve hunted deer, turkey, dove and fish lol. However my views on if I would or wanted to kill certain creatures changed over the years. When I was a young kid my dream was to go to Alaska and get a Grizzly. I always thoughts that would be greatness. Then as I aged a few more years I realize I am doing nothing but taking a creature I fully respect. I would just never kill one unless it was about to kill me or another human (depending on the human) same goes for most other big game except those we normally eat. If I’m not going to eat it (including fish) I’m not going to kill it by choice. Again. Nothing against those who do, well maybe a little bit. I question it in my own mind as to why, Lions, Elephant, Bear, Gators etc. now, I would eat a gator, if I drew a tag sayonara but if I’m not eating one and he isn’t trying to kill me or family or my dog he lives. So many of these animals are amazing creatures. ‘I would get much more enjoyment out of observing them than killing one. To each his own.

Lets not forget that big game and migratory bird populations in the US were hammered by market hunters until the early 1900's.
The success story in US game populations is due to funds raised by sportsmen groups and license sales, not tax dollars from non sportsmen.
Like it or not, populations also have to be managed. Hunting is the most effective tool, and it costs taxpayers nothing. The economic impact hunters have on local communities is huge too. -
Id hate to be tent camping in that lion area.
Beavers, Id never mount one, but eliminate them from my pond, yes. Otters too.cke, Feedman and ElmerFudpucker Thank this. -
Come to south Georgia. You can harvest as many hogs as you can hold.

I know exactly what sportsmen do, I’ve been buying hunting and fishing license all my life. I just said I’m not against it but some of it isn’t for me. I don’t understand why someone should do something they don’t want to do. I would gladly and willfully support your right to hunt any game you wish.
I’ve got thousands of dollars in firearms and even more in fishing equipment. I could support a small village with the amount of money I’ve spent on the economy of many different states doing outdoor things. I moved to Florida awhile back and I’ve spent the majority of my off time fishing. Nothing does me better than getting outside and going outdoors. I’d never try to take that away from someone and I’d be pissed if the government tried to also. I don’t understand why some don’t understand hunting isn’t all or nothing. Anything I’ll eat I’ll hunt. If I don’t want to eat it I won’t kill it unless it is trying to get me. Easy enough for me to comprehend.cke, Siinman, blairandgretchen and 5 others Thank this. -
Sorry, I wasn't trying to argue there. Not sure why it quoted your post, but I understand your point.cke, staceydude, Siinman and 6 others Thank this.
