First, it's a Pitbull. They don't get much love with the masses to begin with. Two, all they have to do is say they were in fear for their dog(s) or themselves. Again, that whole Pitbull reputation thing. Last, worst case it'd just be a he said / she said thing.

You forgot two things. First, one dog is on a leash, the other is running free through an open gate that is normally closed. Second, Florida is a 'stand your ground' state, which drastically lowers the bar of 'reasonable fear'.

I feel bad for Snackbar and his family, it's a tragedy that shouldn't have happened, and I'd wager 10 pounds of aged Wisconsin cheddar to a kraft single that the shooter has maladaptive daydreams about using his weapon for 'self defense'. I'd also like someone advise Snackbar to clean up his posts, because if things escalate and his social media gets subpoenaed they will create legal difficulties regardless of the circumstances.

I don’t think stand your ground has much to do with animals. That said, I was just pointing out that legal action would probably be more hassle than it’s worth and not likely to result in the desired outcome. But, I’m not a legal bannister and I didn’t sleep in a Holiday Inn Express last night. Of course, I’m sure you (knowing me pretty well I think) were probably already aware of that last part.

Oh, and just to be clear, I don’t condone shooting someone’s dog regardless of how I might feel about them. I abhor violence.

Man im sorry about your dog! I used to be scared of them, had a Doberman i think chase me and my brother when we were little. I think it just wanted to play, but was still scary. Still, no one involved had the idea to be violent towards it. People suck. I had a friend who thought her neighbor poisoned her dog with antifreeze, something about the taste is attractive. Idk if anything came of it.

That’s not violence. Most of ‘em enjoy the enhanced night vision, ability to fly, etc… Admittedly, that whole direct sunlight thing is a drag, but I feel most probably see it as a worthy trade off.

I’d trust one of these before I’d trust one of those pitbulls.
