When I initially got the multiple messages they send with Tyson loads, I missed the part that said my load won't be ready until tomorrow morning at 0500. The times on the load say pick up between 1800 today and 0500 tomorrow. But in the other message it says arrive at 1800 so you can take a full break so you can run at 0500. Pick up Tuesday at 0500 (central time), and deliver Thursday at 0900 (eastern time) on a 1350 mile run, why do they schedule these Tyson loads so tight...it's not like these grocery warehouses are transloading them right over to their delivery trucks and running out to their stores so the meat on the shelf is super fresh...It's going to Food Lion for gawd sake, it's not like they're known for their premium cuts of gourmet beef.

We have a Food Lion not too far away and have never been inside of it. Looks old and run down on the outside, cant imagine what it looks like inside.MACK E-6, Lonesome, Knucklehead and 1 other person Thank this.

They're owned by a larger company called ADUSA, who is owned by a corporation in the Netherlands. They're affiliated with Stop and Shop and Giant Foods, and a bunch of names of grocery store brands from other countries.Friend, Trucker61016, Bumper and 2 others Thank this.

Give the customer what they want.... Plus they have to use the lowest common denominator when sending out messages, others may not plan correctly.Friend and hope not dumb twucker Thank this.

This still works on my truck, they haven't found a way to lock it out (if they wanted to that is). On loads like this, a 10 hr limit wasn't enough time. -
I have several Food Lions in my peddle territory and to their credit, the back rooms are always neat and organized.
The backs rooms of Giants and Safeways on the other hand always look like a hurricane just came through.Friend, ElmerFudpucker, Bumper and 3 others Thank this. -
I think I have a pretty good idea what’s going on there.
Knucklehead, Bumper and hope not dumb twucker Thank this. -

When I checked in to drop my empty at Tyson yesterday, the security lady said that my load may be ready last evening or early morning. The load was due to be ready at 0500, I checked at 0300, not ready. I just checked at 0455 and...not ready. I messaged dispatch and told them that if a plant delay causes me to have to reschedule the delivery, that we will have to t-call this load enroute becasue after last weeks reschedule nightmare, I am not going thru that again. Losing the Tyson account might be a positive, especially once they fully close the Lexington plant.
-as of 0530, still not ready and the lady said they're running behind...so basically, this load isn't gonna make it on time to SC. #### if I am gonna kill myself for this company's inept customers.
-as of 715 still not ready. Told dispatch to start working on a t'call because I won't have another screwed up paycheck this month because of our customer's inability to conduct their business in a timely manner.Last edited: Dec 2, 2025
