I had less than 6 months experience....when I picked up the Target account -- but that was with Schneider. Don't know about Swift. I think you'll find that some accounts are harder to get (& pay more) than others.

Do like I did -- put in 4 - 5 months OTR, & keep a clean record. Then look around at other Swift opportunities. Otherwise -- if they give you a dedicated run before then, & it's with a retail "brick & mortar" major chain -- take it. However....

CAUTION: AVOID THE "DOLLAR STORE" CHAINS -- Dollar General, Family Dollar, & Dollar Tree. Those will chew your CDL to pieces!

I did apply, what was a little different, they only asked for DOT regulated employers.
I don't have any to give them so I'm not sure how their going to interpret my application.

I've read about those "dollar" accounts and they don't sound too good.

I've been reading about May and Freymiller.
((SNIPPED))One thing I was reading is, if your in the sleeper, can you hear the reefer unit when it kicks on? Doesn't that make sleeping a little more difficult?((SNIPPED))[/QUOTE]
Freymiller do not goto May, Been there done that, Or call Nick Ward at Inland xpress Salt Lake..
If your lucky you will live near Hershery, PA. Makes getting home easier, Also yup, you certainly can hear the refer, you will actually get to where you need ot to sleep. Most loads run continous, so dont.
Anyway I would not reccomend May, they have a varity of ways for you not to make your bonus, which you will needm also they dont allow idling, which can make for a very cold/warm cab when sleeping.

May Trucking has opti-idle. The heat & air will operate automatically when the temp. reaches a certain temperature.
