Roommate and I went up to Omaha yesterday to look at something to buy. The amount of stupidity on display was staggering, both from other cars and semis. My 3/4 ton sits higher than your average soccer mom mobile, so I was able to see into cars and trucks (roommate was driving). The amount of distracted driving I observed between both cars and semis was frankly ridiculous, whether it be from phones or something else.
I normally don't really notice it while driving because I'm focused on, well driving. But observing from the passengers seat is a whole different ballgame
and people wonder why there's so many wrecksGoody3635, Friend, MidWest_MacDaddy and 2 others Thank this. -
Preplan sent to me today.
Nestle Bloomfield MO -> Chewy Houston TX.
Any insight would be appreciatedFriend and hotrod1653 Thank this. -
You’ll be very heavy coming out of Bloomfield. I used to live about 15-20 miles north of there and pulled out of there quite a bit.
Far as I know they still have overnight parking available, if not there is a truck on the south end of Cape Girardeau at exit 91 on 55.
They should still have a scale on site, if not Cape has a CAT scale or Matthews and Sikeston, MO will have a couple.
I have no info about your drop.Friend Thanks this. -
Careful, next you will be saying the only way to get from A to B is with the Rand McNally Truckers Atlas…
{obviously just having fun}
Oh I totally agree with you about having other options available to us today… use the tools that work for you… to each their own… I know I heavily rely on my personal tech. Others are more comfortable with their Weather Rock… lol
Was just suggesting possible future uses for it. Until then, ya, high tech weather rock.
From the companies view, they are trying to give all drivers a basic option to be aware of things in general as some may not use much beyond that. (Think of the company provided CoPilot GPS… nice to have even if one might prefer RM or Garmin, nice backup)
And, I’m sure it’s a detail that might be used in some lawsuits to show they do provide safety options/information for their Drivers. (Sucks that we live in that kind of defensive legal world, but here we are.)
I used to try to use the NOAA Services but beyond the alert, I didn’t know where the counties they mentioned were at, but it did give me the alert to stop and check my tech.
stay safe out there no matter what you use…
cdavis188, Friend, Pigdude and 1 other person Thank this. -
I sure do miss fueling up at Loves all the time… would hit there top level every month… lol … get a few here and there but all my fuel stops are pretty spread out over all three companies with an occasional Kwik Trip tossed in.Goody3635, Friend and hope not dumb twucker Thank this.
