Did they ever do away with the salary pay system your division was on and put you guys straight per mile plus OD bonuses? Troy swore when they put the general freight division on straight per mile that everyone would be switched over.

Really? You've been trucking how many years? I can't remember the last time I was under $85k until this year.

I wasn't always with reliable companies as far as miles ...it was only the last 5 years I found companies that paid well
...like I was at wel companies, CFI and RTI......Crete is the first where I've made 63 cents per mile.....those others were in the 48 cent to 58 cent per mile... they didn't have the best benefits either....I enjoy Crete more too which is more important to me than the money necessarily....Friend, Lonesome, 48Packard and 1 other person Thank this. -
As far as the mega carriers go in my personal experience Crete seems to have a higher quality of driver. If I were to ever have to leave the LTL sector and go OTR Crete would be on my short list of companies I'd look at.
Trucker61016, drvrtech77 and hope not dumb twucker Thank this. -
Because money isn’t always the most important thing?? Because not everyone has the same mindset? Stop it.

T
there’s only two of us left on the old old pay plan. We both generally hit our mile goal for the month if we don’t take home time. The other driver only goes home a few times a year. They switched a couple of the low hanging guys who never hit their miles and they pretty quickly quit.Lonesome, BeHereNow97, supersnackbar and 1 other person Thank this. -
The one thing I’m really pleased about over here is the benefits and especially the health insurance. It’s some of the best I’ve ever had very hard to beatLonesome, hope not dumb twucker, 48Packard and 1 other person Thank this.

Me too I never have to worry about a big bill....this insurance here pays really well for most regular check ups and meds too....Lonesome, 48Packard, hope not dumb twucker and 1 other person Thank this.

At least at Creaffer you get the bonus of having them remind you how to do almost everything...(He says sarcastically)
Wow, other carriers must have actual short bus seat warming steering wheel holding academy graduates. Since we're having issues with so many drivers not wanting to run more than 300-350 miles a day, only when the sun shines...hard to believe other carriers have even worse driversLast edited: Dec 25, 2025
Friend, Lonesome, hope not dumb twucker and 2 others Thank this. -
this was my gross pay after the last check of the year last night. Miles as of last Friday were 119,000ish. This is my best year, got the bonus 3quarters I think, going to get it this quarter. I hit $92k back in '22iirc, but dropped to about $80k in '23, but had some medical issues and things were an absolute mess. I absolutely have my issues here, but they seem more to be with the industry than crete itself. I dont want to switch companies unless id get a SIGNIFICANT increase in pay or work-life balance. It just doesnt seem worth the headache.
