Well what's the dock setup or his truck number.....that should tell you if he's new or been there awhile..... usually new hires get the older numbers ..like 46 or 47...but anymore it seems new Crete drivers get into pretty new trucks...49 and 50 are the newest....

    Friend Thanks this.

1st day back after hometime and....I am already sitting at a customer waiting on a live load (that was supposed to be preloaded), at the same customer I had to come back to before Christmas to drop my empty because they 'needed' it. I get here and there are DOZENS of empty Shaffer trailers here in the drop lot and I am the 7th Shaffer truck sitting here waiting to have a trailer live loaded. I already told Ops to start working on rescheduling because I am not driving my nads into the dirt because of another ####ed up load from another ####ed up customer. It took all of 2 hours for me to get in a ####ed up mood...this isn't gonna be a very good tour of duty.

Sounds like yesterday’s linehaul run I did.

I show up, grab my paperwork, call central dispatch to see what I’m going to have for a back haul so I’ll know if I need a tandem axle or not, and I find out the terminal on the other end doesn’t have anybody scheduled to cover their leg of the trip. SMH…

After a few frantic phone calls they were able to wake somebody up at 5 AM to come to work.

I’ve had that happen a few times when I worked at XPO. Get to the terminal, and have to wait on them to find someone from Billings to come in.

Second time that happened, I told them just give me a Minneapolis run. Third time it happened I just said the heck with it and went home. Coincidentally that was the last time I was volun-told I was working on a Saturday for them.

Same dude. When I was at Estes they had a brilliant plan of when the city got slow, to make a city/linehaul bid. I would peddle freight Tuesday-Friday and meet Dallas half way from St. Louis on Saturday. The problem was the meet guy liked to party Friday night. And after a couple of times of him not showing up at the meet point and having me drag it back up to Springfield MO, they nixed that idea.

Finally got out of the shipper. Another one of those "we'll call when loaded" and nobody called. I went to check on my trailer and....it wasn't at the dock I dropped it at, it was in a parking spot. And incidentally, the empty trailer that I had to take back to them Wednesday because they needed it, was still sitting empty in the same parking spot I dropped it in. There were maybe 4 or 5 loaded Shaffers there, the rest were empties. Goes to show how uninformed or disorganized our planners are.(I was told in the "drop the trailer" message last Wednesday from the planner that they had a need for empties at that customer). Which was total b.s. needless to say, my load won't deliver tomorrow on time, and I couldn't care any less, even if you put a gun to my head!!! It'll get there when it gets there, and if we lose the coffee creamer account, fine!! The various locations we pick that crap up from have caused me more loss of productivity that any grocery warehouse. They can shove their creamer where the sun don't shine.
