Years ago had some fool in a toyota t100 pass me almost every early morning at the same time for about a month, a half mile from my gate on our narrow unstriped county rd. Me going 35 in a 45 zone in pitch black because of loose cattle, deer, big potholes, whatever. I left at same time like clockwork for 25 years. One morning he zips around me while showing me who is boss and guns it out of sight. About a mile down the rd I turn right at a T only to see him a couple hundred yards up the rd in the ditch tangled up in a barbed wire fence, engine pushed up in the dash, and air bags deployed. About 200 ft before that was a big Black Angus momma laying in the middle of the road. You can’t see it till you on it. I almost hit it again. I kept going. I guess he learned his lesson. Never had anyone do that again. I’m not much into helping stupid people after they’ve made that much of an ### of themselves. I did call the Engel’s about their cow being out when I passed by their property. Lol.
It finally happened to me. Vehicle crashed after trying to overtake me

Did you know the guy?4mer trucker, Flat Earth Trucker and hope not dumb twucker Thank this. -
There’s a cross on Fir, and one on CR10 - both shrines to younguns that lost their lives.
When you see the locations, you can quickly figure out why.
Not much you can do for them now - I just wish someone could have taught them better before missing out on the rest of their lives.4mer trucker, TheLoadOut, SmallPackage and 2 others Thank this. -
I was coming back from southern Ontario with a load of lumber one fine western NY lake effect snow day and about 10 or 15 miles south of Springville, NY I came to a 3 legged hill on 219 south. Roads were pretty bad with lots of heavy wet snow. Worked my way up the hill, which wasn't too bad since I had a good load on and took my time. Just before the end of the double lane some clown thinks he is going to get by me at the last second. He did get by but when I got to the top and started down there he was spun out and in about 5 feet of snow in a field all twisted around. I just blew the horn and waved as I passed.

Don't remember the year, 2011 or 12, running down I44, light snow coming down road nice and icy. I was heavy with a load of beer out of St louis, running 30 - 35 and thought I was pushing it going that fast 3 or 4 trucks behind me, well spaced. Some moron in an F150 passed us all. As soon as he cleared my nose the cross wind hit him, into the median he went, bounced off the retaining wire and spun 180 sliding backwards as he came back onto the pavement, across both lanes and into the ditch. He crossed right in front of me on the way across. The look in his face as he was staring at the hood of my 79,500 pound truck while he slid past was priceless!
No, I didn't stop, didn't even slow down. Pulled into the Love's down the road a bit as they shut the road down. Got a reset in there waiting for the road to open back up.
I'm glad he kept sliding, there was no way I could have missed him had he stopped. Braking or swerving would have made things worse.OldeSkool, 201, TheLoadOut and 2 others Thank this. -
Personally I still think too many of them escape the jaws of the Darwin award and go on to reproduce. When I see some a-wad in his Dodge Charger or Silverado half-ton gunning it down the main drag here at 20 over, I kind of secretly wish a garbage truck would innocently be attempting to make a left hand turn out of one of the neighborhood cross streets at just the wrong time. Idiots are like deer...they'll never be an endangered species and nobody would miss them even if they were.D.Tibbitt, TheLoadOut and Flat Earth Trucker Thank this.

Great story. Unfortunately, this is how a lot of people learn, and the facial expression shows that.
TheLoadOut Thanks this. -
Mr. "dumb**s-in-a-pickup" is one of those enduring memes of the highway.
"And, uh, what kind of vehicle was he driving you said?"
"I didn't, but I'll give you 3 guesses and I bet you won't need the other two!"Trucker61016, TheLoadOut and Flat Earth Trucker Thank this. -
There are thousands of those in Tejas. Seems like every mile. Many down south with 5 or 6 crosses where someones ignorance killed their whole family. Should be laws against them. Thats what graveyards or urns are for.Trucker61016, RockinChair and TheLoadOut Thank this.
