Got the 20’wide completed safely. The Alabama night move with 4 troopers was a new experience. They put 3 out front, one behind.
Two front ones block all traffic light intersections and on ramps, then leapfrog around to the front for the next intersection. They were pretty good at it.
Took my eyes a while to adjust after we stopped, I was half blind trying to clear the load and let them pass back around, with all the blue lights.
Left Sunday, unload in the morning, then another 16 wide load on Monday. Can’t complain with the weather and the revenue this early in the year.

Those blue light are hard on my old eyes.
Ever since the LEDs come to pass they are just so much brighter, at least they do light up the dark.
I think the closer you get to them and the more on scene compounds the problem. -
It is an interesting experience doing a wide load with a police escort, did that once. Really made it alot easier, but yes those blue lights are darn tough on the old eyes for me as well. I think I was seeing them for hours after the load was done lol
Glad you are getting good loads early in the new year, hopefully that is a sign of thing for the rest of the year as well.
Cheers! -
It's only my second time with police, but first time for a night move. Certainly learned a bunch this week.
Up at 6am Thursday - 4 hour drive to meet the night move, arrived at 10pm and got parked 11pm - up at 6am to unload. I'm ready for a good sleep.
Hope, like you say - that it's a good start to the New Year.High Stepper, D.Tibbitt, Old_n_gray and 7 others Thank this. -
Down here in az all the state troopers have some kind of technology that syncs all the flashing lights together, where they are on the same flash pattern. Man what an awesome idea whoever thought of it , so much easier on the eyes when coming up to a wreck at night. They can also sync up with fire trucks and ambulances when on the scene of a wreck. Wonder if that would help driving behind that #### all night? Be cool if more states picked up on that. Seen them up in utah as well. But thats about it
wish i could find a video somewhere on youtubeHigh Stepper, SL3406, Razororange and 6 others Thank this. -

IDK how guys do those super loads with that rolling s*it show following you around all day. I’d hate it.
blairandgretchen, D.Tibbitt and Feedman Thank this. -
Pat Beare - it’s one hour and 40 odd minutes - love the guy to bits.
Sit it on the passenger seat and listen if you have time to waste.Midwest Trucker, Siinman, IH9300SBA and 4 others Thank this. -
Finished off the round with my trusty 16' wide load. A bit lengthy in time spent on it, but I'm well versed in the load now.
Just to ad to the PTSD effect on red and blue lights at the delivery end
50-100 of these sitting out on the tarmac, presumably to load on the rail for assembly in Seattle,WA - 737 Max fuselages.
Way to abuse a step extendable - their $$, not mine. Yard move trailers.
Good to be home, bacon weave wrap around a stuffed pork tenderloin, pork non-consumers don't know what they're missing.
