SSB,
Happy New Year to you. I'm here south of Ocala and 30* this am was too cold for me. Last year in Pensacola we had 11" of snow and that was ridiculous. Let's get back to warm soon.4mer trucker, Bumper and supersnackbar Thank this. -

Long enough. Even though there are no real hills on I-10 in the Florida panhandle the semis had a hard time trying to get up the road with slipping and sliding. So typical of snow in the southland.MACK E-6 Thanks this.

My fuel solution this trip was Lenoir. Much to my surprise, the shop had someone there this morning, so the pumps were on. I wonder how much extra they make for working New Years Day.

Over the years, I have heard people on the CB jokingly advertising load locks for a flatbed...but, this guy actually has some

Got a clean Level 2 at the brake check at the top of Black Mountain. Saw a Crete pull thru while I was waiting patiently for the NCDOT officer to wrap up paperwork...but then I saw the same Crete sitting at the open eastbound scales like it was his turn, not sure if he got stopped or was just taking a break. I know it was the same driver because he had the old school wrap around the bars security lock like we used to use. You don't see those much any more so I doubt it was 2 different drivers.
The DOT cop was quick, professional and seemed to be in a pretty good mood, almost apologetic for delaying me, but I was my usual jovial self and had all my ducks in a row like normal, which helps speed things along. He wasn't interested in doing a full Level 1, it was too cold and windy to be rolling around under the truck (thankfully).hotrod1653, hope not dumb twucker, Bumper and 4 others Thank this.
