They do not have actual terminals they only have drop lots without facilities most you cannot park overnight. The one drop lot considered to be main terminal has one restroom (for the managers) which drivers are not allowed to use nor are the shop employees. So know that your 1st nite you spend there after orientation they will drop you here at your assigned truck (chance you'll get a used mattress and beat up truck after they talk about how they pride themselves on their greatly maintained equipment) where you will have only a port-a potty and a trailer with no vending machines. They will allow you to bobtail for items needed but you aren't supposed to because technically you're not an employee yet.
They will cram orientation into less than a day at a separate office miles away (which also has no vending machines) where the facilitator cannot give her full attention because she has to keep leaving to do her job because every position is understaffed and everyone is doing multiple jobs as they so cutely call "wearing multiple hats" which just means that, like the drivers, they are sucking every bit of life they can out of you to save money. For lunch it will be Subway same turkey sandwich for everyone no drink.
Be prepared to use your own personal email to login and work with because they do not provide you a company email for correspondence and to login to your multiple documentation tools, apps and logs. But be assured though that now that your logged into their system with your personal account they will inform you that while they can view your personal information they won't...
At this orientation the Director of Service/Safety will inform you you will be given a kit in preparation to fix your own truck any chance they can get you to. This kit doesn't include tools of course those you must buy. And he will tell you its not to save them money but to do you a favor because you need to keep moving and can't wait in line for repairs. Which should they ever set you up at vendor for repair, after you impress upon them that you are not a mechanic and cannot fix your own vehicle, the same director and/or service manager will decline all authorizations and send you off without maintaining vehicle and driving in violation to fix when its convenient for them at Vancouver "terminal" shop where they are grossly understaffed and inexperienced. Of course as an experienced driver you know you can and must insist they repair your vehicle while at the vendors but they count on drivers not knowing this is an option or not feeling confident enough to push the issue as one might think the company knows better than you and if it needs to be fixed they would fix it right ...NO
Also, know that they do not hire local drivers so as a Regional driver doing 3000+ miles you are also expected to be a local driver, a yard dog and a transporter of other companies beat up trailers like Swift and will have you using every moment of downtime in between loads to do these things and you will be documenting every breath you take because even though they know where you are at at every given moment thats not enough.
