Looks good from here. I would do it, seeing that you're a short timer.

But only you can decide if it works for you.

@JohnBoy, I bet Abilene being absorbed into Swift makes you even more glad you found your new place when you did.

Hey all, hope everyone is safe with this weather. Been running very good this past month. This last week, we left Savannah going to Denver and tried like heck to outrun this storm. Once we got to KCMO, the temperatures started falling. Once we got to Salina KS, the snow started. The truck did great, it was -5 with the windchill down to -25. It was so cold, the snow wasn’t sticking to the road. Stopped for fuel and additive in Oakley KS about 9pm Friday night, then left. It was cold. -8 and windy with it feeling like -25. By the time we got into Colorado, the truck was starting to gel up. We made it to the entrance ramp to the POE and she quit. Rolled in and parked. It wouldn’t start and we were dead in the water. Called into FleetNet and they had someone there in an hour. We carry -25 degree sleeping bags just for this reason, we were good. FleetNet showed up, put a portable heater under the motor, changed my filters, shot some ether into the intake, and she fired right up. They followed us the 90 miles to the hub to make sure all was good, then left.

We took a short nap then got a call from Linehaul asking if we would run out to Tracy Ca. I said let me check Wyoming and Donner. It was dry and dusty with nothing expected. We hooked and left. Dropped that yesterday morning and had a set to build going back to Savannah. Hooked and left. Right now we are about 3 miles from the Texas line catching up to this past weekends storm. Arkansas and Tennessee look like a ####…show.

I’m going home on Saturday. I’ll be off for a month. My wife and I leave for Singapore and Thailand next Monday.

I think being 3/4’s around the earth should do wonders for my trucking thought process.

Oh right… that makes sense… local deliveries only… got it.

I knew it had to be something if JB wasn’t taking the easier route.

My GPS does route in either direction.
