Go get a medical check up. Make sure it’s nothing more than a few bruises. Concussions are serious business.
Sometimes it takes a while for the injuries to completely show up. Concussion is one for sure. Could mess up things for a while. Never mess with a brain related injury.

Wait a minute, don't be naive.

You are injured, you need to protect yourself and not worry about anyone else.

Go to the hospital, get checked out, have the X-rays and anything else needed to be done to make sure you are all right.

Get a lawyer, and this is for a few reasons.

One is that you are in a truck, even if you are NOT involved with the accident itself, you are injured by it. By the way, technically you are directly involved and a lawyer can explain how and why.

Another reason is if you are injured, in many states (don't know where this happened) the truck insurance will have to pay for your medical bills, or YOU do. This means you have to go after the party that caused your injuries to get your medical bills covered.

Another reason is this - that the party can actually involve YOU and your company in a lawsuit. It isn't a stretch to have that happen, and it has happened in the past. No matter where you are parked, there will be an ambulance chasing POS lawyer looking at the accident and saying "MILLIONS HERE!!" just because a truck was nearby and the driver was involved in trying to signal others about the vehicle in the lane.

Protect yourself first; this isn't about punishment; it is about making 2026 not suck as much as 2025.

Probably starting to wish he’d kept rolling and let God decide what to do with Mr. 85 mph in a snowstorm pickup guy. And then almost gets killed by yet another moron.

Well fwiw, I DID get checked out at urgent care. Basically just a couple bruises and whiplash. I feel perfectly fine as I type this. But I got it on record. Contacting my attorney tomorrow to get ready for any incoming BS. Not looking to sue anyone at this point unless someone was drunk or high on drugs. But I'm now concerned that the guy in the truck that started all this may try to stick it to me for getting him out. Had he stayed in his truck and seat belted fast, he might not have had quite the injuries he sustained when the second car hit

    Lonesome Thanks this.

That would be the icing on the cake wouldn’t it?

“Good Samaritan injured and sued at traffic accident scene…full story at 11.”

If somebody isn’t in imminent danger, like the car is on fire, I’m waiting for the FD to drag them out of there and they can sue them if they want.

I don’t see how he could make that stick if he was out of the vehicle and the two of you were standing there BS’ing on the side of the highway next to the flipped pickup. This is always fun trying to figure out who was most in the wrong and gets to pay though. The guy who plowed into the wrecked pickup at 55 mph might deserve some of the blame too you’d imagine.
