I got 1 ticket for tandems in the wrong place in SC, but that’s it. Not 1 scratch on the truck in 86,000 miles. I’m an extremely careful driver. Clean driving record. Last accident was back in 1988.
FullMetalJacket and Lonesome Thank this. -
@Cherokee65 Chinatown is right, it’s time to move on, you’ve got enough experience and a good driving record. You need to steer clear of the mega’s. You need to check out one of the good LTL outfits, you’ll have ####ty hours and runs at first but if you don’t want to live in a truck the rest of your life, after a year or two it’ll get better!
Cherokee65 Thanks this. -
Has anyone been fired at Schneider for using Opti-Idle? I’ve been told to not use it but the batteries have been so low that the truck has trouble starting and the Espar heaters glow plug hasn’t been getting hot enough for the system to work. SEM says to use it, it’s on the truck for the purpose of keeping everything working. Why get a truck with it if they’re not going to use it? The office says No and I’m caught in the middle with no real solution and in a cold truck with the office saying I need to get more blankets.
navypoppop and Lonesome Thank this. -
Nah, they ain't gonna fire you for silly *****.
Accidents is about all you have to worry with.
And don't sleep cold, (or hot for that matter).drvrtech77, Cherokee65, navypoppop and 4 others Thank this. -
If they are pulling that BS it’s time for a face to face with management and whoever the ######## is that is pushing this nonsense.
Or it’s time to move on. ASAP!!!!!!drvrtech77, hotrod1653, Cherokee65 and 7 others Thank this. -
USE THE OPTIIDLE!.
If your DTL keeps giving you static or specifically mentions any penatly (other than the hit to your fuel economy bonus), go above both them and the Ops Manager. Talk directly with your division manager. Your calls with SEM are logged.
Or just contact Robert Soto or Tammy Grunert. If you can't find their contact information in Compass, ask your DTL. If they don't immediately give it to you, ask to get transferred to the division manager.
Never be afraid to go over your DTL's head. They work for you as much as you work for them.hotrod1653, Cherokee65, lual and 6 others Thank this. -
Run itdrvrtech77, navypoppop, Cherokee65 and 1 other person Thank this.
