NJ LEO have one constant.
Find a gun, lock 'em up until the Judge decides if it is legal...
No rush, Impounded truck costs will be astronomical while you wait...
What happens if they find a gun during an inspection?

I’ve been out here nine years, never had a certain situation where I’d need a firearm, but in a few situations where if I had one knowing it was “there” would have been nice. Biggest potential issue as I see it is getting caught in a Potential civil unrest type situation. A pop-up riot. Thats most likely out here. Have had a few sketchy people bang on my door middle in the middle night. Been out in the middle of nowhere and I mean nowhere followed a few times made me nervous.
I do carry mace. Biggest reason for that is, I’ve been chased down and attacked twice by dogs while going for a walk. If you’re company driver you’ll get fired if caught and nobody else in the industry will touch you going forward. If I was an owner operator I’d probably consider it.Brandonpdx and FloridaRetired Thank this. -
These are an excellent choice. I’ve owned one for years.Chinatown Thanks this.

I remember a case a few years back a lady from PA got pulled over in Jersey by NJSP. She had her weapon in the car, had forgotten to remove it before her trip to the shore. When the Trooper asked if she had any weapons she said yes and he immediately locked her up.
She became a felon for having a gun in her trunk. If i remember correctly the weapon was in trunk & unloaded, but NJ didn’t care. Her Concealed permit from PA didn’t help since she was in Jersey.

I got inspected at mount pleasant Texas. Told the DOT officer I had a pistol on my possession and handed him my license and concealed license. He never looked at it, handed it back, said “You don’t draw yours, I won’t draw mine. We will both go home happy.” He even took me in the building when he did my paperwork. Level level 2

AZ and IA are CC states
I have a lock box safe bolted through a shelf, unloaded and locked while traveling through certain states…. No law that you can’t leave the key in the lock, (though I would be grabbing that before stopping)FloridaRetired and Albertaflatbed Thank this. -
I knew a driver who did cross-border loads into and out of Toronto from Buffalo, and he carried a gun. Thought that NOBODY could find his hidey-hole in the piece of aluminum sheet along the side, under the dash. Well, OPP found it. He was a guest of the crown court system in Canada for 3 or 4 years.....then was deported.
Grumppy, Concorde, wis bang and 1 other person Thank this. -
According to this, IL is a “shall issue” state, much to my surprise. Getting a CCP shouldn’t be a problem if you’re legal to buy a gun.

Worst case as the man traveling by air whose connection @ Newark was cancelled and was arrested on his return from the hotel the next morning.
