Some ELD softwares won't display what you have available until you start driving or go on-duty...(J.J. Keller) that's because they don't "calculate" until your break is complete...and the only way to complete your break is to start driving or go on-duty.

The first break gives you back nothing, it freezes your clocks right where they were, and then you drive on whatever you had left, and then when you take the other break, you get back 11 minus however many hours you drove between the breaks and 14 hours minus the total time elapsed between the breaks.

It does not matter whether you take the long break or the short break first.

Motive elog screams at you and sends your driver leader (me in this case) you’re in “VIOLATION” and must stop immediately!! Then you get your split time done and it says your good, no “sorry we was wrong “
