Oh please,,,
, just another attempt to try and bridge life to death, and newsflash, it can't be done. I read somewhere, one can't possibly comprehend death during life, as comprehend life during death. As I approach that milestone, naturally I'm curious, but I can all but assure you, it's not a cloud stairway to a pearly gate with cherubs playing fiddles. That's a comforting rendition organized religion wants you to believe, and I don't buy it.
By the way, FOX just made another cool several mil by you just clicking on it. Where's your messiah now, eh?
And if it is a cloud stairway to a pearly gate, is recanting on your deathbed still okay?
dirthaller Thanks this. -
Im pretty sure organized religion(I'll use Christianity in this instance) doesnt paint the afterlife, or the journey there in the way you described. However, even science has pointed to the existence of a creator and the life and death of Jesus.hotrod1653, MattaCracker, Sons Hero and 2 others Thank this.

I use to think the same thing, until I realized that I have family in the category and its not the will of God that anyone should perish.

Trials and tribulations all through life...the end is what matters if one has accepted Him as their saviour.hope not dumb twucker Thanks this.

I think organized religion does paint a rosy picture of the afterlife,, the only religion that doesn't is Judaism, you live your heaven and hell on earth, and when you die, that's it, no afterlife. I never fully agreed with that, but I was never taught faith either, so I'm in front of the gun from the get go. To be clear, I don't make fun of or doubt anyone's beliefs, if it works for you, that's super, but my gripe is, 1st, there's no concrete proof of any of this, 2nd, religion has to be more universal today. People like me, need more proof and due to our brain capacity, while alive, I doubt we ever will know., and 3rd, what is it about trying to convince me your way is best? Do you get preferential treatment for doing so? I've heard of this "Humanist Movement", but no real answers there either. I asked the rabbi at my moms funeral some stout questions, and he said, you are asking questions nobody has answers for. And a rabbis word is good enough for me.

Another method of control.
if someone came up to you who said they spoke to the clouds, or an invisible force, or turned water into wine, you’d think
A,)this guy is nuts
B) this guys on dope
C) I gotta get away from this lunatic
I know done scriptures, had to as a child? As it was read to me, but I always questioned talking to someone who isn’t there.
Do that in public and you’ll be branded insane. Do it in church your holy.dirthaller, '88K100 and Carpenter Scotty Thank this.
