I was working late once with a supervisor.
supervisor was a total jerk. It was raining, and cold outside. It was a late Friday night.
He went to start his car, and the battery was dead. He asked him I had jumper cables, and I said no.
I drove a beater 30 year old Honda civic. I had a jump box in the trunk. I went home while he was scratching his head in the rain on a Friday.
I’ll probably go to hell for that one, but I’m still proud of ruining that jerks weekend.

Who made the decision to keep this fool around long enough to do all that?
I don’t feel the least bit sorry for any company who decides to shoot themselves in the foot in that way.hope not dumb twucker, Gearjammin' Penguin and Lumper Humper Thank this. -
It was a paving crew in the South. If someone will show up to work 15-16 hours a day, 6 days a week, most of the time, you keep them. Especially if they have a CDL and can pass a piss test. We had many felons, drug court guys, halfway house psychos, methheads, etc. The state/county jails supplied half our labor. 7.25/hr to operate an asphalt lute over 300 degree hot mix when it is 95 degrees and 90% humidity is not conducive to getting good workers. There's a reason I left the godforsaken #### hole known as the South. Even when I had a CDL the most I made down there was like 15 bucks an hour with no OT. I know Covid has changed the place a lot but still. #### the South.hope not dumb twucker Thanks this.

Yeah, I thanked his post until I read that part LOL

Working for a company owned and operated out of North Dakota when I started, to now being operated out of Alabama, there's definitely been a slide in labor relations and workplace quality, equipment, staffing, etc.
Probably a coincidence -
So I just delivered to a meat processor/packer for the first time.
I guess USDA inspected doesn’t mean much…
The standards in which we handle our food should be illegal. I saw cleaner butchers in Mexico…Texasgordo Thanks this. -
Delivering to the back door of restaurants will ruin them for you tooTexasgordo, jmz, FLHT and 1 other person Thank this.

I was about to say the same thing. 15 years in food service will ruin you. A new guy asked which is the best Chinese restaurant in town all of our answers "one we dont deliver too". Sometimes ignorance is bliss.hotrod1653, Radman, Texasgordo and 2 others Thank this.

Worked in food service industry for 7 years. That's been over 20 years ago and their still restaurants I won't eat at. If you see Sysco, US Foods, PFG delivering some place you ask them if they would eat in there .... that should give to a clue if its clean.

I ate at one Chinese buffet a few years before I started running a handcart and never set foot in one as customer from that day forward. Nope, not doing it.Cardfan89, Radman and Texasgordo Thank this.
