99 freightliner differential temps

    Hoping someone has some info for me. My classic has the two differential temp gauges on the dash well one day they both stopped working and I noticed both had corrosion damage and the 2 wires to the rear of both were just hanging down. I've tried reconnecting them in different positions but I either get the gauge needle all the way to the right or all the way to the left so im curious how those wires are supposed to be mounted on the studs? It's a two wire setup and there's two studs on the diff one top one lower. Mount together mount one on each? Even a pic of someone's diff rear would help ive search Google images over and over again but unable to find a clear photo.

    Mine are 1 wire sensors - the diff housing provides the ground. If I take the wire off and ground it - it pegs the needle hard right.

    Im guessing 2 wire sensors - one is your ground, and other to the guage?

    Get someone to sit in the cab and yell at you under the truck what happens when you switch them around - but I think you’ll need one wire on each post, not together on just one post.

    Good news is that if the guage pegs - the guage works.

    The sensors are a thermistor(?) - should have resistance with a multimeter set to ohms if you poke both posts.

    I'll check ohms this weekend and swap post around. I did mount one on each post already but could have easily had them ### backwards lol
