Because he wants to feel important. Just like when he loves to talk about talking to company presidents and whoever else that sounds important the second he has an issue.

I think he blocked me about 3-4 jobs ago. It’s all cheap entertainment.

Give him a chance. He might do better this time, you just never know.

I’m just curious how this mouse in the wheel episode is going to work out. But hey, maybe this time it will be rainbows and unicorns.

I am constantly flabbergasted by those who can't run the numbers for a basic min/max. The difference in total income over a 2 cpm pay gap is 5,000 miles, or less than 150 miles a week. All a driver needs to achieve that is to eliminate dealing with one Americold facility a month. Even if the driver can only recoup half the difference, not having to deal with a reefer is more than worth it.

Reasons to avoid reefer: Not waiting for washouts, don't have to fuel the trailer, don't have to worry about reefer unit problems/failures, fewer middle of the night delivery appointments, fewer food warehouse deliveries, lighter loads with dry van. $0.02/mile doesn't even begin to make up for all that headache. I've done both and I wouldn't touch reefer again for less than $0.10/mile increase. It's just not worth the headache IMO.

As far as why I left Crete years ago, was the same reason I left Shaffer the last time, which was never ending equipment issues. Since I have been back this time, I got lucky and got a decent truck, so that is one less aggravating factor.

We all do sincerely hope you can find peace on the dry van side.
