guess it shows just what the world is coming to--stealing a marker from a 20 yr old kids grave--the same kid who gave his life so the butt hole crack smoker can live free and get stoned
think the military should be pulled out of iraq and aphganistan and be mobilized here and have open season on drug dealers and low life---no rules of engagement----free to fire
if that ever happend to my sons grave--there would be a few bodies laying beside it

I don't really care if there are 100 or 1 person left there. It was a cemetary and if the city wanted to turn it into a dog park then they should have relocated the buried. Not only that....but it's an insult to every person who has served this nation in the military.
I wish I'd kept my pointy stick. *shakes my fist in the air* -
:shame:......

That is sacred ground to me. Anybody that was awarded the Congretional Medal Of Honor is a hero in my book. That former soldier's grave should be moved to somewhere that wont be disturbed especially by a bunch of dogs crapping and pissing on his grave!!!!
Brickman, Lilbit, teddy_bear6506 and 1 other person Thank this. -
ummmmm NO!!!!
You DONT move the graves, you move the got dammed dog park to somewhere else!!!!
I sure hope whatever twatwaffle it was who signed the ok on this has his or her name go public!Lilbit and luvmyhubby Thank this. -
That's California for ya. The same state whose legislature held a moment of silence for a fictional TV character (Mrs. Landingham, President Josiah Bartlett's private secretary on The West Wing) is the place where you will find dogs peeing and pooping on the graves of true American heroes.

Hey Scottie I'm not gouging on ya but could you make the size of your type a bit bigger....it's kinda hard to read for us blind folk, Now you don't have to go the extreme either where one word takes up a whole page. I just ask because it looks like you have some good things to contribute but my eyes start going cattywhompus trying to squint thru my bifocals thanx!!

It used to be people were taught where and where not to walk in a cemetery so you don't walk on top of the ones who've passed. Now this....
Scale slides a little more to the no hope side. -
I'm going to take a little bit of a different approach to this.
I find it disappointing that 1) A dog park is on a cemetery and that 2) It seems most of the people mad about it are only mad about the veteran's grave. If the remains of 3,000 people are buried there, they all deserve respect and peace.
You learn a lot about a culture by the way they treat their dead, and to me it's equally sad that, on one hand, people are physically mistreating the resting place of so many, and on the other, it appears that it's only an issue because somebody "special" is buried there.
READ CAREFULLY: I'm not bashing anybody in this thread. Just trying to take a deeper read. I've been uncomfortable for awhile with our military hero worship. The dead, regardless, are at rest. That should be respected. -
You don't move graves, period. Veteran or non-veteran. Billions are spent rerouting new highways around cemetaries. What makes Ventura so special? Like there was no other place to put a dog park. Some people need to get their priorities straight. I highly doubt the mayor would allow it if her family was buried there. Shame on you!
