It's about time they go after those dastardly criminals. I mean really, who do they think they are, skipping out on $10 ?

Those deputies ought to be embarrassed to have to perform that particular job!
What's even more criminal than not paying a $10.12 tax bill is the extorted interest, fees, and other outrageous charges the system decided to add on! There is the REAL criminal act in this story!!!

"Clark called his wife, Kimberly, who handles the bills."

Wonder if she's still "handles the bills"? (or even still married:biggrin_25523:)

When you are placed in jail for not paying your taxes are you relieved of said taxes ie. are they considered paid off then?

As an example if a guy owes $XX,000 in taxes and is trying his best to pay it but cannot, would the Feds stick him and his wife in prison for a year or so where he surely isn't going to be able to produce income to repay the tax; is the tax going to be gone when they are released from prison?

Believe it or not but the IRS will not put you in jail for not paying your "fair share" they will just take it in the form of garnishee or property seizures. What they will put you in jail for is cheating on your taxes or not filing at all. I can't believe that the city in this case can legally lock him up, I thought debtor prison was only in OTHER COUNTRIES!

just try and arrest any arsehole in city hall or the state guberment if they OWE YOU tax refunds.......!!

you would be LUCKY if they pay interest on that over due refund, but you know what, they DO NOT pay you interest (at least, not my state, maybe others do however). and i know this for a fact, because MY state with held my refund, a lousy $300 for several months, because they DID NOT have the money to pay out those refunds......!! i filed in january.........i got my refund in JULY.........!!!! (of this year by the way).

NO SHIOT.........think i got interest on my money due me.........??

    HELL NO.........!!!

but you owe any taxes, let's see how far you get..........

    what a bunch of arseholes...........for a lousy $10.

What about the idiot Judge that signed the warrant? Sounds like he does not need to be reelected seeing that he likes to waste resources like that.
