I just chill out and keep in mind that while I cannot control the behavior of others, I can control my reaction.

Also, I've yet to get behind the wheel of a CMV and not experience the aggressive driving of others. It's a near constant so, I expect it and try to anticipate my next move.

Every once in a while, I'm pleasantly surprised and my planning for the worst turns out to be unnecessary.

I'm not saying I've never lost my temper, but I keep a pretty good handle on it.

You just have to remember the vehicles that are driving aggressively are not just vehicles, but they have human beings controlling them. Sometimes I see them as objects, so I try to remember there are people inside. No matter how much they frustrate me, I could not live with the consequences of what might happen if I react negatively to my frustrations. They are someones Son,Daughter,Mom,Dad,Wife,Husband, etc. Don't let your emotions control you. It has taken me 16 years of driving to learn patience, and I am far from done learning. And their ignorance of safe driving can frustrate you to no end.

Each time I get behind the wheel, I expect everyone else to drive like a crazy person.
    I am rarely disappointed.
If I run into less crazy people, I am pleasantly surprised.
As a professional driver, you CAN'T let these people get under your skin.
Chill out, take a breath and keep on truckin'

I drove in the city everyday with a large gasoline tanker. There is always going to be someone that will cut too close or just yell at the trucks. We just ignore it and adjust our movements, then when we get back to the loading racking we tell the other drivers and have a good laugh. You can't get upset about it because there's no reason. Think about it, how much time or how much influence does this bad driver inflict on you? A couple of seconds or more if it's funny. But you show some road rage then things change alot. If you hit someone or even hurt someone them your time is theirs. Plus you might be out of a job holding a bill the courts say you have to pay. If you really want to get someone back for their stupid moves then the best you can do is laugh at them.

Here's a short story. I saw these two, a woman driver with her husband trying to give directions when we were all stuck in traffic. He looks up at me and lips "What do I do ". Then I just made the motion of tearing up the map. That was his only hope and I'm sorry I couldn't stop lauhghing.

Keep a positve attitude and don't sweat the small stuff and go home with a smile on your face.

Like Gas Hauler and all the others are saying ... "someone's got to be the parent" ... someone's got to be responsible for their actions or we're all going to be in a world of hurt.

The only consolation I can give you is that at least you get paid to keep your emotions in check and your mind on ypour job. BTW ... these things usually work out in the end ... the clown with the road rage usually gets something thrown in his face to change his game plan ... sooner or later.

RAGE? NO RAGE HERE !!! I'm always "inspired" to see some young 4 wheeler in the hammer lane going around a curve during construction with narrow concrete barricades, driving with his knees and texting with his thumbs. God help us all.

Yeah ... but you and I both know how that story will end ... sooner or later ... unfortunately!
