Nothing wrong with his Qualcom.
Sounds to me like he has a bad battery, or connection.
The truck will be cutting off power to unnecessary functions to save power.
Get the battery's load tested. If they test ok they will have to check your power wires. May be corrosion inside of the insulation they cannot see.

Redd...I shutdown at the Pilot yesterday as that was my fuel stop, so I combined it with the PTI this morning when I left...finally.

I set my alarm for 0300. Looked at it and said something rather unseemly. Left out around 0730.

That's what I think happened, that is, the system cutting power to unnecessary functions. The QC thing, though, is a new one. I guess I just hadn't noticed that it cut off after awhile. Right now all is well. I left the truck running non-stop (so much for the sweet note I got from the COO about having a low idle %) while I finished up the run to Orlando.

Sitting at the TA in Lake Park GA now with engine off. I'm outahere at 0245 or thereabouts heading for McDonough GA then Scottsville KY. I'm going to let it sit for awhile with just whatever stays on with the key off. Probably will make sure it cranks at 2000, then leave it running if it does. If it doesn't crank, at least I'm at a ts and I should be able to get it running by 0245.
