I was at a shipper picking up a backhaul this week. While loading another driver is backing in beside me (53ft refer and a Freightliner Classic). When I come out I have to pull up so they can put the seal on. I notice the guy beside me is very crooked in the dock and his tractor is ####ed to the side. This is not a hard dock to get into. Now I drive a foodservice truck (Freightliner day cab and a 40ft trailer). I pull up and they put my seal on and the guy parked next to me is standing there. He says "I wish I had a short trailer". I wanted to say maybe then you could get in the dock straight, but I just smiled and went on my way. Now I have pulled 53ft trailers before, but I was always taught to be professional. I always get straight in the the lines trailer and tractor. Even if it takes a few pull ups. I understand there are exceptions to this. Thats just me. Any thoughts?
Kinda funny

There are a lot of morons driving truck these days....
-
Lazy, stupid, lazy, morons, lazy, idiots, did I say lazy?
Yeah what he said too. -
You said it.
-
Anyone lazy enough to leave their truck parked like that will have no issue with pointing out all of the "reasons" why they couldn't have possibly docked it straight.
-
ill pull up and fix it if i am crooked in a rest area pull through even. i notice when someone is all ####eyed in a spot, i dont want people looking at my truck like that
-
gotta love those rest areas that are made for a 45' trailer--then at night either somebody has pulled to far forward and you cant get out--or not pulled far enough in and you cant get by the back
-
I don't even bother pulling into them after dark anymore. If I do I'll just pull thru the car lane usually to hit the exit ramp. I have been known to wake somebody up because they were to stupid to pull all the way into the parking spot and they were blocking the road. I don't like to do that but if they are to stupid and lazy to make sure they are all the way in the spot and not blocking traffic then #### em they get what they deserve!

Sad thing is, the longer the trailer, the easier it is to back. He would be hell on wheels backing with a pup trailer, lol!
25(2)+2, outerspacehillbilly and PurpleKW Thank this. -
