Alright so i was given a truck and am not fully sure what to do for daily maintence, I'm learning slowly

    question
Draining the air tanks, there are 3 on this, side by side, all with a turn plug, how do i drain these correctly step by step, I attempted but nothing came out,

Does the truck need to be on or off, does the plugs need to be screwed all the way off?

I know this makes me look dumb,, but I am a bit, just trying to learn the business and survive.

You would drain these at the end of your day.

You would drain them at the end of your run when you stop for the night. Shut the truck off and open all the valves. Let them drain until no more air comes out. Keep in mind on some trucks your cab may sink down if the airbags deflate, that's normal. You won't see alot of water come out, but sometimes you may see a mist or fog come out. After you're done, close the valves and start the truck to build the air back up.

If you do it everyday that will prevent water from building up in the tanks or going through your airlines.

If ya don't ask questions you don't learn anything! We all had to ask questions, and still do!

If your truck has an air dryer, you will not get much water out of the wet tank. Listen for the air dryer cycling and check its electrical connections if it is a heated dryer. In freezing weather, a good time to drain the wet tank is after leaving an indoor dock. Do not drain the tanks where people walk.

Robert there should be a pull cord. When you pull it you'll hear air rushing out of the tank. The cord is attached to a spring loaded valve, just a lot easier than opening/closing those pet ####s which was the only way to do it in the olden days.
