I didn't explain it very well. The load was 1500 + from point of origin to Sparks NV. Sparks NV is only a couple hundred miles from my home. As it turned out though, I didn't go home, I turned around and took a load east that was 1800+ miles. I was 300 + miles away from completing another trip that would have fallen under the same pay period that would have been 4128 paid miles for the week. Unfortunately an SUV crashed into me on the freeway putting my truck up in the shop for 5 days.
Anyway, long story long, miles vary. I'm realizing that even though I might have plenty of time on load A, it behooves me to get it as close to the delivery place as fast as possible because the next load may be hot. I try to have no more than 5/8ths on the fuel gauge for weight, and fueling frequency (free showers with 50 gallons).
Quick math 55 miles per hour times 50 hours driving per 70 hour driving window equals 2750 miles times your rate of pay per mile.
62 miles per hour times the same 50 hours driving equals 3000 miles. Depending on your pay per mile, that can translate to an extra $100 a week or $1000.
The guys who are raking it in are in ungoverned trucks, no on board recording crap, driving 12-14 hours a day pushing 800+ miles per day. -
whats the average miles per trip there now adays 400 to 600, looks like longer trip get t-called, its a toss up between millis transfer and swift, millis only has 800 tractors, thanks

I will tell you they shot me 3 preplans the other day. One was go 72 miles pickup and empty trailer and drop it 1 mile away at this other place, bobtail out. The next one was go 80 miles pickup an empty trailer at Walmart go a few miles away and get loaded and haul that 343 miles. Take now empty trailer 34 miles get loaded and deliver it 1700 +-. So it varies a lot.
After I dropped the empty per the first preplan they sent me the trip details for the next one showing still attached to that dropped trailer. I sat at a truckstop for 28 hours waiting for them to figure out what to do. I kept messaging this dude, "hey I don't have a trailer" then he would reply "driver do you have a trailer or not?" I was thinking what part if I don't have a trailer don't you understand? Once I got directions to the next empty trailer at the Walmart, I got another message to deadhead back to the city I had just come from. I sent a message to confirm that I was still on trip number xxxxxx. A few minutes later that trip's details came through on the qualcomm lol. They are like a government unto themselves where the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. The Challenger and biker dave Thank this.
