Thanks. I have one car (for the time being) between my better half and I. So she gets it whilst im gone. I wish my pickup had not of died (RIP Ford) :biggrin_25513:

Worst case a 120ish mile drive for her to come get me :biggrin_25525: That, and the Vandalia terminal is only just a short drive for me...So thats a win for me.
Getting my bags packed as we speak!:yes2557:

So, the Prostars I am seeing around here...are they the Autos?

    Thanks

As far as I know of ALL of the Prostars are ultrashifts (autos) except the Trainer Trucks of course. I believe the only new trucks that have manual trannies in them are the Freightliners.

    Well, so far so good!
Up at 0700 too the DOT Physical, got me a one year card (BP was elevated) Most made it thru, some didn't. Tough job, tough requirements. Thats the way it goes. Motel is ok, its not the Ritz. But hey-we are here to get a CDL, not an extended vacation. The staff and instructors at C-1 Ft Wayne Have been very upfront and concise. I LIKE the staff!
Weds we take all the fun permit stuff :yes2557:
I plan on hitting the range tomorrow to get touchy feely with the truck. I mean, seeing the air-brakes in person beats the snot out of pictures.
Off to bed here, started studying and classes # 0700 and went at it until an hour ago:biggrin_2552: This pup is tired

    Cheers!
And will post some more everyday.

One more fun thing happened on class today. Im sitting in class, 25 other guys. Office lady walks in and in a VERY loud voice, calls my name..I say "here! And she says "yeah, Harold you need to fix an error on you D.O.T. form here, you marked yourself as a female" OMFG! Let the heckling begin:biggrin_2554::biggrin_2552:

I hope most drivers are like these guys, it was hilarious.

Day two in the books. PLENTY of practice tests today, passed all of them with the exception of air brakes..missed that sucker by one question, air loss question. Thats ok, if I bomb one of em, I can get about 4 retakes. But I have no intention on failing any of em :yes2557:

Some folks are getting pretty stressed, you can tell.

But so far, so good! Stay tuned for the aftermath tomorrow

The CDL tests are fairly easy I think... I think the worse is the General Knowledge (longest one) and then it seems air brakes gives people trouble. Been 3 years or so though so maybe I just forgot it all :p.

You might as well get double/triple and tanker if they let you take them for free. You won't need them for USA but if you decide to go to another company at a later time its not bad to have on your license ;).

    Good luck on your Tests!

Passed babbyy!!!:biggrin_25522: Aced IN ops, air brakes, combo vehicle, gen knowledge.

about 20 students, Less than half aced it, a few sadly-downright bombed it.
It felt good to ace it!
Im gonna wait till all is said and done to get some endorsements, this stuff is coming at us hot and heavy. Will be out on the range with the PTI truck staying ahead of the game and learning pre-trip. I could give darn if its snowing, raining, whatever, my arse will be all over that rig. :yes2557:

It has been an interesting experience thus far, but Im getting that $3000 hat! :yes2557:

I just suggested getting the two endorsements due to them being free (i think) from C1 instead of paying the $30? a piece for the test in Ohio.

Good luck with the PTI! It seems that is the hardest part for many people to get, but if you don't overthink it you will ace that as well... Its basically an open book test, everything is infront of you!!

And I really hate USA Trailers... lol.

One I had earlier had to re-splice to wires (marker light and tag light) and now the one I picked up a few minutes ago has a busted spring and tracks so far to the left that I can't keep it in my lane lol... Hopefully its a D+H so I don't have to deal with the #### thing, should have left it at the customers location..
