I left USA about a year ago and now my old dispatcher has called me 3 times in the past couple weeks wanting me to come back, he says that things have changed since I left in may of 2010 and that things are so much better now and I wouldnt be disappointed at all.. Can anyone tell me what has changed in the past year? and where are their current terminals at? when i left there the chicago (south holland) terminal had only been open a couple months..
Have the miles gotten any better? and if there are any illinois or wisconsin people that have Matt as their FM, please let me know how things are for you now...

I've been here since last summer and I think the only thing they have changed since then is they are started to run west coast a little more. But usually if you get a load out west.... you stay there for weeks! Although the miles over there are a lot better then on the east coast haha.

Current terminals... (from my memory anyways)

    Spartanburg, SC
    Roanoke, VA
    Vandalia, OH
    South Holland, IL
    Laredo, TX
    Phoenix, AZ
    VanBuren, AR
    West Memphis, AR

I think thats all the terminals.. Indy has a truck/trailer shop but i don't consider that a terminal.

I'm not sure what you are currently doing, but if you are enjoying where you are at now... I would just stay. But thats me :)

i just hired back on with them after being gone two years.i left to take a local driving job in Dallas. I didn have any problems with them when i left. The overall attitude seems alot better company wide including the drivers.I ended up with the same dispatcher that i had when i left which is great cause he keeps me busy and doesnt bother me about anything while i am out here.Which works good for me, i am 40 i dont need babysitted i know what i am paid to do which is deliver loads and pick up loads and not complain about things

I left because US XPRESS oferred me a job home every weekend pulling dedicated account for Dollar Tree avg pay was about 1000 a week, but most of that was unload pay since i had to unload the trailer by hand and it was a floor load, but deliverring to a store in missouri i had to back up to a door that was at a down hill slant to unload and the load shifted while i was in it and came down on me from behind, messed my back up and had to have double hernia surgery cuz of it, then when the spine doc wanted to run tests in november on lower discs they fired me while i was on light duty.. so i am currently doing nothing except trying to get docs to release me
And did they close the Shreveport terminal? cuz that wasnt on the list, and they had the little drop yard there in INdy when i left, just a little fenced in area next to C1 behind the McDonalds, where is the repairs done at?

They closed Shreveport in Fall of 2010, sometime before I left in late November. They took over C1's little shop right below the C1 building. They don't do any major repairs there, it's just a little two-bay operation. When I went there with a bunch of problems on my truck last Summer, they sent me to the International dealership about a mile away, which was great because they usually do much better work than USA's shop.
That's a shame about that US Xpress job, I hear those Dollar Tree accounts are a tough gig.
