thats something that should be sent to operations then.....if you go to the USA website and read our 1Q 2011 results, I'm quite sure that would be adressed.

Hey Harry, I love spreadsheets; would appreciate a look at the one you've set up. Do you send that through this forum? (See how new I am?) Or do you need an email address?

Im thinking about going back to usa, have talked to my old fleet manager a few times and he telling me that i will get this new sign on bonus with a free laptop, has things changed any at usa? and has anyone heard anything about this sign on bonus?
-
Changed? From what to what? I met a guy today who got 2k sign on, scanner and laptop. He has been here 2 months and is turning in the laptop and scanner, quitting 4/30. I didn't ask why but he was hot at his FM.

thats not good... doesnt sound like things have gotten any better in the past year

i recently hired back on with them in February and things have been fine for me just as they were when i left.I have the same fleet mgr i had when i left 2 years ago and have gotten 2300 plus miles a week every week out other than my hometime weeks.Been out 3 weeks on this trip and have hit 2422,2516,2368 miles.Been out on the I-95 corridor all this week from North Carolina up to Mass.I go home next Friday so i will rack up miles going home to being this far out from Dallas

Some people don't have patience. Two months and you should expect to still be on the bottom of the barrel and they will try to see how far they can push a person.
USA has people quit a lot within the first few months. Out of my orientation class... I have seen three or four of them out of about twenty. Not saying all of them quit, but I'm sure at least 30% of them have already if not more. -
It's been said before but bears repeating: this job isn't for everyone. A lot of people get out of CDL school with some preconceived notions about driving and, the second they notice things aren't exactly as they imagined, they bail. Doesn't only happen at USA, though; I'm sure this same story has been repeated ad nausuem at Schnieder, Swift, CRE, Werner, and so on.

Well I've been offered a local job with better pay and more home time working for a friend. Only issue is its only season with very little miles in the winter. At least as far as its planned now. He's working on that issue. Anyway he's giving me a couple weeks to think about it.
But I have to say that its awful tempting at this point. Especially considering that USA can't seem to ever get me home on time. I'm always at least 5 days late getting home. Its the same excuse every time too. "We don't have any freight in your home area." I live in southwest Michigan, 5 miles from I-94 and 30 minutes from the Indiana Toll Road. So basically they're full of #### that their is no freight. This last time I wrote the company president an email and amazingly had a load assigned the next morning going home. Coincidence? LOL!
I will say though that I did get a nice reply to my email telling me that he's not sure what is going on with Operations but they are definitely looking into the issue. He also told me to feel free to drop by his office next time in Van Buren.
