you got that right 48P--kids can be the most nasty diseased carry things there is--far worse than rats i believe--i used to go out for 6 weeks,be nice and healthy---come home for a few days get sickerndog---go back out and get better--repeat over and over
but i still love the kids and the grandgirlies, even if they cause gray hair and weird sicknesses

I've worked in all the major oil refineries in northern California- Chevron (Standard then), Shell, Tesoro, Valero, American Eagle. In the early 1990's you just drove your personal vehicle right on the premises, unloaded your tools and hardhat and went to work. Years go by, fires, accidents, liabilities rise, rules change, 9/11 happens, everything changes. Now you park outside the gate and are bused inside. Must don fire retardant Nomex coveralls over your long pants and long sleeve shirts no matter how hot it is. Trained in a 40 hour hazmat certification class which I assure you is not anything like your little local DMV hazmat 20 question multiple guess quiz that you can take over and over again til you pass-- how many feet do you need to stop before the railroad tracks lol.
No this training is the kind that will save your life and others'. We had to run drills in full on hazmat gear with supplied air. We learned about hazardous chemicals which can kill you with one breath. We wore $1500 monitors on our suits to warn us of deadly gasses. We learned of the fellow who dropped his cell phone in the portapotty and reaching down in there to get it, that's the way they found his dead body after he breathed in the deadly gasses. We learned about the deadly heavy metal flouride that YOUR government has been putting in toothpastes and municipal water for over 50 years. And we learned about the guy who liked the smell of freshly microwaved popcorn who spent 5 months in the hospital from breathing too many popcorn fumes. -
"Unfortunately too many namby pamby truckers out there who cannot handle a little 99 degree weather without idling and running their sissy air conditioning. Don't they realize every time they idle, they are letting the terrorists win."
Haha this just made me crack up.scottied67 Thanks this. -
Also, somewhat related to the OP (at least, the idea that there are things that we "know" will kill us even if we can't always "prove" it)...
scottied67 Thanks this. -
The real hidden health hazzard in a truck is that some clown used it as an ashtray before you got it. 100,000 miles later the thing is a stench bucket!
LaBubba Thanks this. -
So how did the OP survive in a toxic truck for the past 15 years?

"Turbo Power". It's the only thing I know of that gets rid of a mold-headache, other than avoidance. I bought mine from a TA somewhere. It's well worth the price. I've been looking for years for something that will tackle the mold-headaches until I found that. It's truly miraclus.
