Hello I hopefully will be training with USA in the next few weeks. My question is , what kind of truck can I expect to get assigned after my trianing is up?

more than likely you will be assigned one that was dropped off somewhere by a former driver and they will make arrangements for you to go recover it.Probably will be nasty and dirty. Not always the case but be prepared for that scenario

You can expect to be assigned a POS tractor another driver either just dumped at a terminal OR dumped at a terminal because he was either fired or most likely quit, something I am very close to doing because I can't seem to be able to get my tractor fixed. (Van Buren don't give a #### either)

mine is a 2006, is not a POS and I never have problems getting things fixed.

it lacks "creature comforts" but works good. remember.....entry level job, your not gonna get a pete out the gate.

I am sure I want get a new truck by any means. But to read all these horror stories that people post make me wander. On line they say that most of there trucks are around 21/2 years olds . Thanks for the help !!

keep in mind the horror stories generally come from the same guys on this forum. They are disgruntled former employees only giving you their excuses as to why they no longer work here.I have talked to plenty of drivers that have worked for USA for more than 10 years that have nothing but good things to say because they do their job and do it well and dont sit around complaining about every little imperfect thing in this industry

I am not a former driver, I am a current driver trying his best to make a living. Over the past 2 weeks I have lost 3 loads and at least 2000 miles because of breakdowns. I am well aware that no Trucking company is perfect. But it seems that I get the same run around when I beg the company to fix my truck. Also I have detailed knowledge of 4 drivers (one with almost 12 years service with USA) that have quit because they could not get their tractors fixed, and the company won't give them another one. One driver I just spoke to in vandalia can't get his AC fixed. So please understand that while everything is rosey and sunny for you, there are drivers who want to work and work hard that are tired of busting their heads against the corporate pass the buck mentality that seems to be the rule at Van Buren! I hope one day this gets fixed, in general I like the work and the customer base USA Truck has just today I had one of the biggest belly laughs in my life at a dock, but walking back to my truck wondering if it will make it to my next PU/delivery point gets a bit discouraging.

was not referring to you necessarily exrayman. And not everthing is rosey and sunny for me.I have been doing this for only 4 years but i have had no problems that were worth me complaining about so to speak. There are options in life.If people dont like where they are at they can leave and go somewhere else . Plenty of truck driving jobs out there.I happen to like it here and have had no issues with them either time i have worked here
