Well, I never got that GP load. I called night dispatch last night from GP's waiting yard at midnight and let Mike have both earfuls about this load causing me to miss all my appointments at home and lose my home time (Would have started to day). He was apologetic and it sounded sincere. I felt sorry for having him have to deal with me. He told me he would call GP and find out why they hadn't loaded me. He called me back an hour later and said that all the crews had gone home and wouldn't be back until 0600. I told him that was awesome, that still gave me no idea when my trailer would get loaded. So I told him I was just gonna get comfortable but I'd have to go fuel after idling for 12 hours and looking at maybe being there another day. He sent me to Denham Springs to the PIlot to top off. While there the AWESOME Eaton Autoshift on my Prostar crapped the bed for the second time in a row. Got a tow this morning and my truck will be down at the International shop until at least Monday.

The only good news about this whole escapade is that my FM called me this morning to apologize about this week, missing my hometime, and the truck breaking down. He told me he'd already started my breakdown pay and that he would do whatever it took to get me home next weekend to make up for it.

Being in the fleet that I am (6), I don't know why everbody else has bad experiences with USA. My truck is sketchy on reliability but my FM has never dealt with me in any way other than a supervisor who cares about me and my well being. I've never sat for more than a day waiting for a load and when it did go past a day hes paid me detention. Both times the truck has broken down hes started breakdown pay without me asking for it and he even told me if the truck keeps giving issues, hes just gonna reassign me to a newer truck.

A supervisor like that I can show loyalty to and coming from 9 years in the Army I know, if you treat your subordinates right and show them that you care (even if you don't) they will go to the end of the earth for you without question. As long as I keep my current FM, I can tolerate the inconveniences and I may very well stick it out with USA past my 1 year DS contract. We shall certainly see.

Well all my problems with USA Truck are over. According to somebody in the maintenance dept my problems with my APU were all my fault. My FM just notified me I was terminated this afternoon. I hope I can find a job somewhere because I fear USA Truck will black ball me now.

    That really sucks :biggrin_25513:

How can a driver really be at fault for an APU problem? Unless you physically went in and messed with the idle screw, spliced wires, or anything under the "hood" of the APU I don't see how a driver can abuse the APU.

I fear they just needed to find an excuse so they didn't have to continue to pay you breakdown pay or have to deal with you anymore, definitely not saying you were wrong with how you handled things but USA says they care about drivers, but they don't :biggrin_25523:. Being in the east coast (Roanoke especially) can be a PITA as they don't have as many trucks coming in like West Memphis, VanBuren, and Vandalia.

If USA don't really foul up my dac file I should have another job within 2 weeks. I think I was fired because after 2 nights in the heat I went off on Steve Anderson the other morning. I could have got a hotel room, but was loaded and stayed with the truck and load. Being responsible and doing my job properly cost me 2 sleepless nights, so I told him off. USA truck maintenance is a joke.

Sorry, don't know who Steve Anderson is... don't really care to know either. I just care about my fleet manager's name and if he/she does a good job at keeping me happy. But that ain't happening since the LC's are worthless. I personally would have slept in hotels, If I can't sleep, I can't drive. They want Vandalia to do a service on my truck, I'm not letting them touch the truck because every time they touch it is automatically 2+ days downtime and then a few days down the road I have to get it fixed elsewhere.

I have a question for all those who use the internet transflo. What do you put as fleet ID. I used my fleet number but it says invalid. Any help would be appreciated.
