What an idiot. I guess he has never driven a truck for a living. If you drive 10 hours to get to a cons, and then sit there for 6 hours for them to unload you, you either have to drive and not log it to get to a safe haven, or you have to sit there until your 10 hours is up. Technically when you come back out of the dock and get your paperwork your 10 is supposed to start then, because all of that requires you to be working and come on duty, but there isn't a driver that is trying to make a decent paycheck going to do that. I sat at Coke in CT and they took 11.5 hours to get me loaded and told me I had to leave afterwards that they didn't have the room. I said well I'm illegal because y'all took to long to get me loaded. He said but you can drive across the street to a parking lot over there, they don't mind. I said the law minds and I will stay here. He says, but you can't. I said watch me. So when loaded I backed back into the staging area and laid down. One of the yard jockeys come beating on the door and told me to leave if I was loaded. I said I got to get some rest. He says, well you can't stay here, and it ain't our fault you're out of hours. I said BS, it is, y'all took 11.5 hours to load me. He then tries to scare me with security. I said they can't make me move, it's ILLEGAL. He says well I'll call the law. I said good, call a DOT officer and see what he tells you. He stormed off and I got to get me about 6 hours of rest and headed out in the morning...LOL
Either way, as far as that guy, he just got a little bit of authority and wants to try and abuse it.

I worked for USA TRUCK I like the PROSTAR the apu problems are most generally ground issues. the mechanics cant figure it out so they replace them. If you have a coolant issue it will be the top tube.
I told my safety person I was coming in to take my fleet manager out in the parking lot and beat him down. She said I can do that for you..lol
He got fired the next day. They gave me the best fleet manager ever. MARK, cant remember his last name but great guy. the weekend dispatch let me sit from friday night to monday 2 hrs from my mother when my little brother died on friday.
I took 5 days off for that then finished my last week of 5 weeks took another 5 days off. They gave me no trouble over it because of that dispatch problem.
Then I gave my 2 week because I had just moved back home after 7 years and had more family members on the way out . I just did not want to be 30 states away and not be permitted to come home for an emergency. Other than that If you have a good manager USA aint so bad. It could be worse.. -
Yeah, pretty cool meeting a fellow TTR member! Wish you the best on your trucking career!
I took a new pic of my truck yesterday, turned out pretty good I'd say *looks down @ sig* -

I gave it up. Turned in my truck 8/25. My fm was a good guy, but he is not the company. There is happier hunting all over this great land. No regrets or harsh words, just relief as I sit on my porch and drink some coffee.
Take care all.Ridinwithpride Thanks this. -
Sorry to hear that. Hope you don't give up on the entire industry. I'm sure there is another company out there that will respect a good driver, that isn't afraid to work.Ridinwithpride Thanks this.

Well I got here in Sealy TX @ 23:00 last night at Walmart DC to drop a load. The soonest they can get me loaded is Monday @ 0700...LOL how pathetic. I ask should I just sit here, and she said yes, there is nothing around there opened until Monday.
Looks like 2 days of detention pay again...This is sad.Ridinwithpride Thanks this.
