ran 2500 miles last week for the first time in two months since starting regional, was home Saturday and Sunday.Delivered down here to Louisiana today at 11am had 7 hours left on my 14 and 5.5 hours drive time left.Next load assignment picks up at 12:15 am on the 28th and delivers at 13:30 on the 28th 370 miles away. This seems to be an ongoing issue here lately of not utilizing the hours available. They dont comprehend or dont care that its hard to shut your day down at 12:30 in the afternoon and start it back up at 1030 at night after starting at 445 am this morning.Hopefully this works its self out soon.I showed them last week you can run 2500 miles and still be home all weekend. Will be lucky to get 1500 this week after wasting today and tomorrow on this next ld assignment

They think they can shut drivers on/off like a light switch. You could always call safety, but getting a decent paycheck might be impossible afterwards
-
yeah i dont ike to complain but the 1500 mile weeks are piling up here since going regional and alot of it has been due to a failure to use my hours available each day
-
That always sucked when they did that to me. I had one that I had to pick up in NOrleans LA @ dropyard around midnight. So it had extra time on it and worked out great. I took my 10hr, stayed awake, picked it up and headed back to LaPlace and took another 10. Then left that morning.
Now I run teams so we both keep a schedule...kinda, but with another company. -
I was re-reading your post and begin to wonder what the current unassigned tractor % is today at USA Truck? I remember seeing a statement made that the company goal was 3% I honestly don't see that happening given the current dynamics at USA Truck.
-
I don't see why any company, not just USA, but all trucking companies, would be happy and not fix such a high turnover rate. Again, why not just make the drivers you have happy, keep them and save money.
I think it's safe to assume they get a kickback from the Gov't for training people and giving them jobs...But that can't cover all the wrecked trucks they have. -
my week ended up being a good one got deadheaded 300+ miles to pick up a load going to Weslaco Tx for Monday morning delivery.Ended up with 2200 miles this week and spent my weekend home and got 2500 miles last week and spent my weekend home.I remain optimistic that you can run 2000-2500 miles a week and still only be out 5 days a week if they get all the glitches worked out of this new regional deal.

2200mi is good

For USA Truck 2200 is VERY good, it's a bit below average week where I am now.
