My best friend and I have decided we would like to become team drivers. So, my question is: how do we start? We are from Missouri and need company paid cdl training.

start researching companies that offer it...Swift CRST or whomever....
Not trying to sound like an ### but seriously the search button will help you more then anyone individually.Youll find the answer to probably every question you have. -
I have been researching for several weeks, but it seems that every company has several sites dedicated to how bad they are. It's all very intimidating and I thought maybe I could get real answers from people on here. I'm not simply trying to be lazy; just cautious.

If your in Springfield, try looking at Prime.
-
I reccomend Smtds in Malden, Mo. Pdti certified. We live close to Springfield, and would never work for prime.

I gotta ask.....what makes you decide all of a sudden to become truck drivers ? You should really investigate this biz thoroughly first.
-
You would be surprised! All I see is commercials for truck driving schools on tv! Not to mention several hundred ads on Craigslist and what not. Its funny how a short commercial of a shiny new truck driving around a mountain curve with no traffic will entice people with no job! Then at the end of the commercial tell them they can make $80,000 doing this! Its everyone's fantasy in which you just tour around site seeing and get paid right?!
-
Exactly....like the one commercial I use to see with the driver's foot clutching and then showing him shifting. All with shiny cowboy boots! I'm just always curious why people choose trucking for a "career change". Why not pizza chef, or brain surgeon ?
-
OP last seen in May '11...........wonder if they made it?
-
Yeah there are so many good careers out there with the same amount of schooling. Like fiber optic splicing. There's a high demand career in which anyone can do with a month or so of schooling and be home every night. Dental assistants, pharmacy tech, nurse etc... I think its just natural for everyone to want to have the dream of making lots of money and having the freedom of traveling blah, blah, blah!
