Here is some good advice...Switch to a company that hauls produce (reefer) we are always moving..7 days a week people need the product..I never get less than 3500 miles a week..and they ALWAYS want you out there..

Ah hes from Heartland. Sounds like hes implementing some of their operational policies. That will certainly rock the boat for those drivers not used to frugality.

That's what I was told by the safety guy at Roanoke. It's like a 5 year transformation. That's why they keep talking about a "spider web.". He told me that over time they want to reach a state where no one driver has to drive more than 500 miles on a load. So if you get a 1500 mile load, you will carry it 500 then put it in a drop yard or relay it. Hence the pushing of regional fleets. He also said they are trying to broker out more of the smaller customers to focus on the core customers so they can stick with more regular routes.

I guess a veteran driver wouldn't mind a regular area and route but me being young to trucking, I want to see the country. I don't care to just work between DFW, Houston, New Orleans and Tulsa.

I'm a trainer for usa and I'm currently looking for another job. Since april of 2011 things have been going down hill, I went from getting over 6000 miles a week on some weeks to struggling to get 3000 miles. I'm bout done with this company, I just find it hard to leave when you've put in time at one place. This is the only company I.ve drove for so I guess I don't know any better.
