I love how they point to "distracted driving" statistics which cover a wide range of situations other than cellphone use.

The people who elected them gave them the right by virtue of our constitution. If you don't like what your duly elected representatives do for you, fire them, work to elect someone who believes as you do.

Magnum DID YOU ACTUALLY JUST THREATEN THE PRESIDENT WITH VIOLENCE!
Man I totally agree than this guy is out of control with the overridding os Congress and this new Prolonged detention and just about every lie that comes out of his mouth. BUT GOOD LORD MAN GET A GRIP.
We has was was and again will be the greatest country in the world. But do you realize people are in prison or "missing" for such statements. This is automatic I believe. I think if that fell on to government eyes boom its bye bye birdy.
I believe very strongly in small government. States need to have more power. In fact our federal government is out of control hell the whole world knows it. But you have a vote and this is the best tool you have in this regard.
Really this not an attack on you for your political views. Your state of mind however is indeed in question. But of course you do seem to reside in New Jersey. Lol

332,278 lives were taken by Planned Parenthood in 2009 – supported by half a billion dollars of taxpayer money. What happens if ObamaCare opens the floodgates of taxpayer money to the abortion industry?

You can help. Log into the www.aclj.org and sign the petition against the unwashed president nd his demon's ideas.

Here we go again, another individual that thinks laws are the answer. Ah to remember the days before cell phones when there were no traffic accidents. Will you be saying the same thing when some idiot wants to ban AM/FM radios because they're a "distraction"? What if having a conversation with a passenger is deemed a danger? Like I've posted before, there were people just like you in 1913 that were saying windshield wipers should be illegal because they were a distraction. Same was said when Motorola put the first radio in a car in the 1930's, somehow we all survived.:biggrin_25517:

    Quote from AAA.
It's never about safety, banning something doesn't make it go away. Speeding is illegal too, count the number of cars doing the speed limit on the highway.:biggrin_2554:

I agree with PackRatTDI, give me the number of crashes CAUSED by someone on a cell phone. Politicians and nervous nannys LOVE stats because they can skew them to fit they're views. Take "alcohol related" crashes. If I'm sitting at a red light minding my own business and a stone cold sober driver hits me but I had been drinking......that's "alcohol related" not "caused"! If they actually posted the number of crashes caused by cell phones their "sky is falling" view wouldn't pass the smell test.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said there were 5,474 deaths due to "distracted driving" in 2009. What they don't tell you is there were 5,648 deaths due to "threats to breathing" i.e. choking or suffocation but not drowning. 12,757 people died because of accidental poisoning. 13,322 died because of falling, either off a ladder, out of a chair, down the stairs ect.

Now out of the 5,474 driving deaths how many were CAUSED by the phone? Ever wonder why they don't tell you that number?

    Magnum1 and 07-379Pete Thank this.
