I agree with all these. Those pickup trucks with the tool box on the back instead of a bed are fairly horrid drivers as well.

Yikes! My 4-wheeler idiot meter definitely works overtime most days (and, for that I'm sorry) - I think my meter flew right past "idiot" and is approaching more of a "Moron" meter, but, I'm trying really hard not to cut off any big trucks these days. And, if I did, it wasn't on purpose - judging those distances can be hard. I'm just a bad driver & I'm working on it. I'm learning a few things just perusing this forum now and then. And, I hate those bumper-riding 4-wheelers too. It's all I can do some days not to just slam on the brakes and let that jerk on my tail buy me a new car.

And, I drive a ton of miles (badly most days) and don't need any more enemies on the road. So, you drivers of big trucks don't need to hang out your windows and scream at me about my driving or tell me I'm #1 by using only the middle finger - really, you don't need to do that - I already know I'm a lousy driver, but I'm working on it. It only makes me sad and I'm already having at least one good cry every week on I-5 (and nobody wants to see a gal sobbing in her car at the rest stop!). :sad2:

...it would be better than some of the things we've seen going on in cars at rest stops.

I was coming out of a truck stop in ny on monday. Its real hard to oncoming traffic from the left so you kinda just do your best and go. I start to pull out and this little honda comes flying around the corner. I'm already all the way across the road by the time he breaks around the corner so I just keep going. He rolls down his window and starts along me what i'm doing you stupid and on and on. my window was down so all I said was slow down.. Well thay pops his corrk and he chases me all the way to the interstate, swervingjust to make sute I se him. Than pulls along side of me and take down all the numbers on the truck. Oh yeah....ask this with tri kids on cat seats in the back. Too bad I work for local company....told the boss and he laughed it off waiting for a call.

This is why I want a dash cam...some things just have to be seen to be appreciated! Just like the guy smoking a bong, no hands on the wheel, that I passed in St. Louis a few months back!!:biggrin_2559:

... are you for real?!? ... what the heck are you doing reading a trucker forum?

For real? Afraid so. Like I said - looking for insight - I drive 5-7K a month all over the NW alone in my beater 4-wheeler and have been on the receiving end of some unpleasant big truck behavior (and other 4-wheelers too) - And, I'm not saying I didn't deserve it. So, I was perusing the forum -just trying to figure out what I might have been doing wrong - what heinous infraction could cause a driver to hang out his window and scream at me, or look like he was going to blow a gasket and pulverize me - that's all. It really bugs me when that happens. I respect professional drivers and realize that they are what drives our economy - the more of them on the road, the better for the economy. I'm just trying to share the road well and not end up in a ditch somewhere (or shallow grave) - I've had enough trouble w/the other bad 4-wheelers on the road threatening to kick my ### 'cause they thought I cut them off- I don't need any trouble with rigs that could squish me like an insect!

So, that's what I was doing reading the forum. That's it. But, I get the impression from your post that maybe this forum is private and not 4-wheeler friendly, and that's perfectly fine- - I can ask questions/research elsewhere. Thanks for allowing me to view and have input. Drive safely. :biggrin_25519:

Hey lady I'm not saying you can't post on here, it was just weird that a 4 wheeler would post in a trucker's forum. It's a free world, post where you like. Maybe someday you'll become one of us (dramatic movie music follows)

(dramatic music ends) I would love to become one of ya (if you can't beat 'em, join 'em) - but, I can barely keep 4 wheels on the road - I could really do some serious damage with 18!! (I'm definitely a danger to myself and others on the road and my rides of shame to the hospital after the firemen have peeled me out of the car attest to this).

Yours is one of the rare occupations where I could actually live where I'd like to and have a decent-paying job. Now I'm stuck in the rain 'cause it's the only place I can do what I do and make the $$ I do. No, I definitely don't have the skills required. I wish I had the ability to do what you do, but my brain is maxed out with 5 gears and a clutch - can't imagine having...well, I don't know how many your giant trucks have, but probably more than 5 speeds. And backing something like that up...well, I can barely handle backing up my Focus without making few innocent bystanders jump out of the way. And, instead of "yielding" when I should, my reaction is always to stomp on the gas and get up to warp speed like my hair is on fire. (I really do drive it like I stole it). No, I wouldn't want the suicide of my truck driving teacher on my conscience.

-- and, weird it is. I must have been really bored in the wee hours of the morning when I stumbled into this forum. (very sad - no personal life 'cause I'm always on the road). Thanks again & drive safely.
