Not sure about the school you are going to, but I know C-1 would let students graduate early. I believe C-1 was a 3-4 week school and people would be able to take the state test beginning of 3rd week. As soon as someone would get their license, they would get their bonus check and leave. I left the middle of the second week (used this as a refresher, waste of money IMO) and had orientation for USA a week later.

After you pass your PTI, maneuverability, and driving tests you should be able to take all the required paperwork to the local BMV/DMV (whatever NC calls it) and get your license right there... Unless NC is different then the other states I've been to.

Also, what all do you have to do for your maneuverability test? In Ohio you have to do an inline back and reverse lane change. After those two the tester would tell you to do either Parallel Park or Ally Dock. You can't choose but either one is pretty easy :). (I made an image because i was bored lol)

NC still only does straight line back and 45 degree back only. The instructors just told us that at the end of February, the state has changed the rules and the first class in March will have to do, straight line, 45 degree, offset right and left, 90 degree alley dock and reverse serpentine.

Well we were back at it today. PTI practice followed by backing excersizes. Some took to it like a fish to water and some took to it like a cat to a pool. They might need all week to back just in a straight line. LOL. I talked to the instructors today, I guess this is not run like a C1, this is a private school contracted by Drivers Solutions, and I wont be able to graduate early. Even if I could, with the amount of people in the classes ahead of me there just isnt enough time to be able to test all of them and try to add people in from other weeks. It's all well and good. I originally planned on being here for 4 weeks so I will just grin and bear it and go on with the same attitude. Do the most and try to be the best. Tomorrow will be more yard excersizes, straightline backing, curved backing and wednesday the ones who are doing well at the rest will start 45 degree alley dock backing. I will probably not update more this week unless something good or funny happens. I will give an update on friday and let you know how the whole week went.

Well, day 3 of week 2, and another PAM driver bites the dust. My roomate. They as usual wouldnt give him a reason why he was being let go, just basically told him to kick rocks. We started out with 16 and are now down to 11. We have another one that left today for a family emergency, a family member died. Not sure how long he will be out and how they will work that out for him if he is out for the rest of the week. So we might be down to 10 by the weeks end.

Well we are down to just 9 in the class now. Took all my tests last week so now I have passed my Tanker, Hazmat, and dbl/trpl. Went today to have my fingerprints taken so hopefully by the time I test out and get my CDL the fingerprints will be back and I can get the endorsement on my licence. Filled out an app for my passport card online now I have to get a picture taken and take it to post office. Looked into getting my TWIC card but right now I am no where near a port to go to so that will have to wait. Nothing but sitting in the sleeper and observing time this week so not much to report. Those of us in week 3 might get a chance to test out on PTI and skills on friday and maybe start driving. If not it will be first of next week.

9 out of 16... I figured a few would drop but thought the total would be around 10-11.

A passport is always nice to have, but most likely won't need it for USA. USA does run Canada sometimes though, but if you have to go to Quebec... just pass on it as the locals there (from what I've heard) are rude and don't speak English to outsiders. Thats coming from other drivers and my Canadian friends haha.

You won't need a TWIC card for USA... I've only been to a port once and was just escorted around :).

Cool update, keep up the good work :).
