I know what you mean. I've been home for a week since quitting Crete, and I know I have gained 5 pounds. I have been fairly productive though in getting quite a few honey do's crossed off the list. Well, I am at the airport now about to fly to Dallas and start orientation at Poly tomorrow.

Little late for reply as this was posted Jan 2008. I drove for Crete and made darn good miles and money. Drove year 2007 and half of 2008 before went home for family problems.
Crete was good to work for. Yes, can get hot under collar with every company at times but they will give you the miles if you run them and do the loads on time.
Want to go back after getting current time under my belt. Good company.

Quick update:
I got my newer unit....a Schaffer unit (84nnn) with 222k on it. Well-maintained, but previous driver was a smoker, so some airing out and wiping down is an order, but it's not too bad.
Only had it a few days, but man-o-man what a difference over the Century. Quieter, better ride....storage is a bit strange in it, but nothing I can't overcome. Pulls good, too. Got a 45,300 pound load right out of the gate with it and it barely broke a sweat.
Glad to have orientation done...last few weeks with them trying to route me to it has restricted my miles something awful. Only thing left now is the sleep study. But I've been on CPAP over 4 years, and I will not buy their machine. They can either monitor mine or I can work elsewhere. I am not coming out of pocket with $$$$ for them when I have a perfectly good unit already. -
as a non-smoker, I always hated getting into a smokers truck. You can never get that smell out of it. Heck, the International mechanic was smoking outside my truck w/the door open and I can still smell it.

I had a little advantage in "cleaning" it out. I got a load that didn't pick up until Sunday afternoon, and with the wind blowing across the truck, I was able to leave the cab windows open and have the wind just whipping through there for about a day and a half, so the cab is actually pretty decent now. The sleeper will be a little more work.
The first Schneider truck I got was a former team truck, and they both smoked. That was probably the worst one I've ever moved into. -
Well, I am officially a grandpa again. 9lbs 3 oz grandson. There was a Crete recruiter waiting at the door waiting to sign him up...(ha)
