from what I know in NY its 31 a hour or so, same as the package car drivers make. It is incredibly hard to get into. Unless you go to one of the huge hubs and maybe you will get lucky. The UPS in my town has a 7 year wait for a package handler to become a driver, and almost 22 years before you see a tractor trailer
CenutryClass Thanks this. -
i wanna know what happened to the ups commericals on race day... RACE THE TRUCK PEOPLE LOVE THE TRUCK

UPS is good money, but the way they are working these package car drivers now days very few make it that far. My best friend drives package now and he usually has over 200 stops a day. Mgmt has really learned how to jimmy these guys around and keep them part-time, but basically work them full-time. You work for these guys you better like going balls to the wall... cause it is wide open all day long every day and then half the night too during the holidays!

Being a feeder driver for UPS is the very best driving job in the country when you consider the pay, benefits and home time, plus job security. But as already been said, it is very hard to get on and once you get on, you will work a senority dispatch system. My son is a feeder driver and he has over 5 years of senority but yet he is still "low man", the location he works out of has not hired a feeder driver in over 5 years. Nobody quits. At the location my son work out of, there were drivers that made close to $100,000 last year, working 5 days per week, home every day, benefits paid for. You can't beat it! One thing to remember, UPS make the rules, the employees abide by them.

its called a carrot and a stick. give you a semi decent wage, benefits that cost them nothing as its written off as`an expense then they can slave drive you, and the worker allows themselves to be slave drivenbecause they think theyre paid fairly.
why anyone would wait 20yrs to drive a #### truck is beyond me. -
I fail to apprehend what you are talking about, but then you are just probably jealous since you are working for a "scab" outfit. But I would like for you to expound on your statements. Wait 20 years? And "slaves"? The feeder drivers that I know all got hired "off the streets" as feeder drivers and there are a few package drivers who came over as "feeder drivers" but not too many. I know for a fact that Conway like several more LTL carriers, make their drivers work the dock at the hubs they run too. I yet to hear "Brown" doing this. All my son does is "meet and turn", doesn't sound like "slave driven" work to me.
Lets hear it from the "envious crowd"

So basically what you are saying is..."ALL drivers bow down to brown"?
Is that really what you are saying? Please clarify. Thanks -

Lol, you work for neither and call who I work for a scab outfit..man arent you just a funny one. And no, I do NOT want to work for UPS or any of their companies, so your envious statements hold no water there. I actually like working the dock anyway so I have no problem doing what I do. Whoever you are related to might have been lucky, but alot wait 10+ yrs before becoming a feeder driver.
So your feeble attempts at insulting me are just that..weak and inept. Off the soapboxupnorthwpg and ACH1130 Thank this.
