Combat trucker

The physical action of truck driving is one of the easier patrs of the profession. There is allot to learn. Lets say you are a really sharp person. You pick up things really fast. There are allot of thinks to KNOW B4 you get a job. Unless you get really lucky and find a company that will hire you; you should go to school. Some schools AND companys offer breaks for ex-military.

 

schools teach you about driving a truck.

Not about trip planning, logbooks and dealing with consignee's and shippers.

Check with your local vets service office. They have a career services counselor that can help put you in contact with companies that work with returning vets find jobs.

If I was in a better position and looking to expand, the first people I would hire would be a vet before a non-vet newbie.

Check those guys out. First time I heard about them was from a vet website. Remembered about them when I saw them on the road this week.

 

I got out in '09. Did 20. I was with 5th SFG/A. Welcome home. I have come to find the driver "brotherhood" is like the military. It's a family and we take care of our own. HOOAH!!
